I click on the links either in your profile or more likely on the sig line of your posts.

I know many posters that do not actively search for anyone. If its not there in front of them,its not going to be seen.

It's "to/too" much!

Well, mayi, I for one heard your plaintive cry, and I clicked on your link and checked out one of your poems, "Evils of Cybering." My first comment is you really need to learn the difference between "to" and "too." You use "too" in several places where you should use "to." "Too" means the same thing as "also." Example: "He hit me and then kicked me too." "To" is used either as part of an infinitive or as a preposition. Examples: "To err is human." "I went to the store."

I won't even comment on the content or imagery of the poem at this point, because to me the glaring mechanical errors were so distracting I couldn't even get into the more ethereal aspects of the poem.

I'll try to read some more of your poetry soon and give you some feedback on it, too.

Seriously though there are some writers who feel it's a personal attack if their work gets heavily criticised. Personally I've been writing too long now for anything like that to bother me but I fully understand other writers feeling hurt. After all, if they've done their job properly, they've put a lot of effort into their writing and to have it dismissed out of hand, without a proper critique, is hurtful.

Even with a proper critique it can still be depressing.

The thing is to, as you say, learn from the experience.

But bear in mind not all criticism is correct. Everyone has different viewpoints and what's sauce for the goose is not necessarily sauce for the gander.

I receive quite a regular little flow of e-mails giving me feed back, especially when a new story of mine is submitted, and on the same story the feedback can be anything from entirely negative to the highest praise.

It's bound to be the same for poetry...

I'm only too happy to get feedback...

Feedback hurts my ears. And if you have a good sound engineer, he can eliminate it altogether (unless you get the guitar to damn close to the speakers).
