The great question about dryer sheets is not why they work but if I am putting wax on my clothes, how come they don't look duller? Answer, OPTICAL BRIGHTENERS! Yes, those amazing little chemicals that convince you that something is brighter than it really is.

I hear George Bush has ordered 20 metric tons of the stuff in an attempt to look brighter himself. So far, it ain't workin'.

Nothing would work, except a lobotomy, and that's awfully drastic. I think his father should have eaten the broccoli; I'm sure all those vitamins would have made for stronger, brighter sperm!
