Though I would think these are still like most regular clamps in that they do not apply pressure from all directions around the nipple, just 2 sides.

you are quite right it is the all around constriction that makes them so pleasurable, I have lots of pinch varieties.

very much like that indeed, simply make it out of brass or chrome and loops to the outside ring for attaching chains etc. And have small locking positions for the measuring tab and you've got it.
