I say: "GO FISH!"

You said nothing about bait, buddy. At least in the first pic.

From the second shall we surmise, small, colorful and tasty?

The bait. Self assuredness, self confidence, obviously happy in his own skin. Blatent and blunt honesty.Thats a trait most of my friends have and I admire, even if it hurts sometimes.I need to know where I stand.
The thing that keeps me hooked. Intelligence, Inventiveness. Adaptability. The fact that he studies my actions and reactions and changes tack accordingly and frequently.
Like my freshwater turtle,I live in the depths, but come up to play and feed in the sunny shallows.

Great points all.

I like a confident, smart man, too.

Surprises and spontenaity (did I spell that right?) are nice. I like surprises. They add a mystic to a relationship.

So glad to see you posting, darling.

i got all the aces, i win.

From the first pic, at whom does the cat look darlin'?

Feel like a mouse yet?

Chuckling ... no need to worry. That cat sits on a tall, cold mountain by himself, and he likes the view.

When i feed, i'm not interested in appetizers, but a Great White rocketing from the depths might have left nightmares in some minds.

Check your six, often, or you'll never see it coming.

Re: i got all the aces, i win.

Lol! Nicely done.

Feeling, if not like a mouse, at least a frisson of something a nervous tabby might feel when she'd haplessly ventured out late at night and suddenly senses something coming down from the mountains.

But I don't play cards. I tried poker and gin rummy on one occasion each as a teenager. Both times the guys who taught me quit in disgust not very long after teaching the rudiments. The poker I recall best because they seemed to take the unfairness of my repeated royal flushes so personally. It did get a bit boring after a while. Gin rummy was much the same.

Sounds like the stakes weren't high enough.

Enjoyed the exchange. Headed back up where i belong.

Shallow, deep, I don't really care. Are the colors bright and are they playful and swimmy or are they suffering from the ick?

I'll bend over backwards with effort to capture and then keep the prettiest and most colorful often the highest maintenance ones... happy and safe in my very own tank!

You will keep the highest maintanence ones? You are a real treasure then!

I am HIGH HIGH maintanence! LOL And that's no joke. I freely admit to my character flaws.

Is this card-playing or dancing? Sorry, not familiar with the terms. Was just expressing appreciation.

Never heard of E&Eing but this little cat does fine on city streets. I know street rules, and how to become invisible somewhere around dusk.

I wouldn't know, as my mind is a pure and unsullied place. (And you are free to take that however you'd like.)

Don't know if I wish to answer this with ...'or too high,' or with 'are they ever?' The real deal is they decided not to play for money after the third hand when I groaned and they all did whatever one does when one is excited -- don't even remember if that's upping the ante or calling, or what -- and learned that I'd been disappointed to only get a plain old ordinary flush that time.

Don't let the thin air give you a nosebleed, oh High and Mighty one, she meows back, licking her hindpaw and make a show of great nonchalance.

(edited to remove a bit of info that was a little too informative for public consumption)

Then... there is the fisherman who is a true sportsman.
He baits them, hooks them and then tosses them back in... just to rebait the hook and do it all over again.

It's all just sport to him.

Some fishermen aren't so gentle, H. Some want to make sure they leave a bit of themselves behind on that damaged fish.

as always... a pleasure to see you.

I keep thinking about this metaphor of yours during the day ADR. Not sure how far out in the water I go, or wish to go but somehow I need to be in the ocean, not a swimming pool. Even when dipping my toes in, need to know there are unknown depths out there, too far down for my feet to ever reach.

Yes, I love the ocean because there is a never-ending horizon and you can go on forever, or feel like it. One of the reasons I like the desert... not much in the way if you wanted to walk away and just keep walking. I get real claustrophobic in the mountains or in heavy forests and can't last more than a couple of days there.

But to the topic of the deep water... I love being taken to that place and of course, not alone. I love feeling that it's bottomless, as in never-ending.

In other words, I understand what you mean.

I too feel uncomfortable when I go camping in forests, after living in the desert. Something to do with needing to see the broad open sky.
(at the risk of sounding old). I was reminded of the line from
' A Horse with No Name' :
"The ocean's like a desert with its life underground and the perfect disguise above"
