Yes, indeed. It's always easier to call someone who points out your mistakes "irritating, pedantic, and irrelevant" than it is to look at your own behavior, isn't it?
But you're right about one thing: I don't suffer fools lightly.
In particular, I have little patience with morons in editor's clothing.

Kindness is not answering all of your basic questions on editing in a straightforward manner (for years) when I'm fairly certain that you don't know anything more about editing than the ones you are "editing"?

As an old boss of mine was fond of putting on review comments of fitness reports, Carlus (no, not mine.), "X doesn't suffer fools gladly; however X has difficulty identifying who the fool is."
He tended to use it on self-important, pedantic, old maid types like you exhibit in your posts.

Yes, I'm a popular target--but only with a persistent few. They like to act like they are a crowd--or the voice of the forum--but they're not. They're mostly just angry at the egg they keep applying to their own faces.
You can certainly choose not to troll with them. I don't think I've done anything to set anything off. All I've have done is give underkeyed responses to stuff slung at me. And that I do just makes the little bee trolls buzz all the more. They want me to sling the stuff back on their level. Not going to happen, though. I don't have to justify anything I am or have done. It's not that my world is too big; it's that their worlds are too small.

I just have to ask how much time you all are putting into fighting?
This site is supposed to be about a major in fun and arousal, with a minor in education. Practice makes perfect and all that mumbo jumbo.
I'd say that we should go to a completely anonymous free commenting system. It would get more people's foot in the door and there would be a lot less sniping of stories without worry of repercussions. I think only one of my stories has ever had a bad comment from a registered user, granted I've also had several good comments from old Mr. Anonymous. Sure some of my stories could use A LOT of work. I admit that whole heartedly.
What I don't admit to is earning a damned single penny out of writing anything. I feel it is entirely unfair for somebody to call you out for something you did for nothing. If you volunteer at a homeless shelter is random people going to run in and ripe you a new asshole for using the ladle incorrectly? Walk an old person across the street only to find a supposed Elderly Assistant on the other side telling you that if you were intelligent at all you should carry the old lady, to completely minimize their risk?
The answer is all NO. I don't know what those people think their rude and mean comments are doing for anybody, except scaring other potential authors away. Authors of stories that they might love. I often read a story and have to control my urge to write it better. Well I'd be thrilled to find a version of any of my stories written with more quality. Some potential author could be excited by the end of my story, thinking how he/she could do better and introduce different items, only to stop short on a bad comment. Who wants to put their time and heart into something when they see negativity is a repayment?
And here we are, some poor sap like myself looking to cut down on the insults, looking for an editor, and a huge argument spanning a dozen plus posts. I can guarantee in the time it took each of you to fume about and respond to each other's comments you could have given a quick edit of a story or three. That's just this one thread! Obviously you all have been at it before. You know who cares? ONLY YOU FEW DO! None of us others who pop in and out of here give a god damned rats ass about what you are arguing about. Who edits more or says more or cries with real tears or fake ones. GET OVER YOURSELVES!
As far as SR giving people rough advice, well if you ask then you'll get it. I don't like S/M but if I ask for the pain then I expect it to be given. ONLY if I ask though. So if he responds, as he did in one of my few threads, with a little bit of rough reality, then so be it. At least he bothers to give an answer.
