Random revival of the thread because I'm trying to illustrate a poem and I've fallen in love with a new filter. I possibly have no taste.

Once I submit the illustrated poem, the quality will go way down, which is a shame, but I do really love the way these pics look right now, because they reflect the feeling I'm trying to go for in the poem really well.

Opinions?

I love the blue, but I love the gold, but I love the upright gold.... Dammit, I LOVE all three of them. Perfect.

Reading the poem, which is wonderful, I think the gold standing up is more fitting.

I think I agree.

I wish it was possible to submit larger, higher quality pictures. I could do some really neat things with photoshop.

Now, should I try fitting the poem on the picture or just put it underneath? I like poems as part of the picture better but I'd probably have to compromise the coloring a lot.

FWIW, I prefer the bottom gold too. The poem mentions warmth, and it just seems to fit. Although, I can see the blue too. Because the warmth is false.

There's something else I like about the gold one too though. Around the top part of the glass, it looks sort of like bits of confetti. Like a celebration, but not really. It sort of fits with how it feels to drink alcohol once in a while.

Or maybe I'm just really weird.

I actually liked the way you did it before. It's more interesting that way, closer and just showing part of it.

I think people might object if I run out of the building dragging a scanner with me. But I will definitely try to get one/find someone to borrow one from as soon as possible. I may bridge the time with some more pictures, if I take any more good ones. Anyway, I'm very glad and thankful you take so much interest in my work and make me feel so welcome here.

Those photos were damned good.
An excellent example of colour contrast and texture IMO (although I'm no expert).
And I get the impression of one seriously pretty lady.
