I like the east coast for boogie boarding.
When I lived over near you, we used to gather at a beach/inlet that was pretty secluded. Probably not anymore. I can't remember the name of it though. Lots of cool exploring and shallow areas to walk in

Early in the morning there are few people at the beach. Mostly just an early morning walk for me and avoid the crowds.

When I stay on the east coast, I wake up every day to sit on the beach and watch the sunrise. On the west coast, I would probably do the same for sunset
