Thank you for your patience my most sweet wonderful sexy friends!

As if the airline trouble last week wasn't enough, yesterday was one for the books. I was supposed to arrive in DC at about 4:45. While we did technically land in DC at the appropriate time, we landed in Dulles rather than National. It seems National developed a bit of a pothole problem on the runway. Not one to be a backseat driver, I bit my tongue rather than to suggest a good pilot probably could have steered around the damn thing.

So, we sat on the plane for 2 hours waiting for the pothole to be repaired or a gate to open for us. In the mean time we were assured we were 1st in line for fuel. Well, we wound up being second, but as if to make amends, they pumped an extra 4000 lbs of fuel into our plane. Physics isn't my strong suit, but even I know that taking off and landing for a 15 minute flight (since Dulles is 23 miles from National) with that much extra fuel would be problematic.

Thankfully, a gate opened and we were able to deplane. A logical move might have been to remove all the luggage before attempting to siphon off a little under 4000 lbs of fuel. But, we were dealing with United. And, since there is a prohibition against removing luggage while fueling/defueling a plane, we had to wait another 2.5 hours before the plane was ready for us to reboard and take off for the 15 minute flight. I could have completed the luggage delivery paperwork, left, and taken a taxi downtown. But, I needed my suitcase and I knew full well the likelihood of a next day delivery was slim.

I eventually made it to the hotel room at 11:00 pm. United was kind enough to send an email with an offer for compensation. However, since this is United we're talking about the link was problematic and said I had already received compensation. But... I could elect to speak with someone from Customer Service, if I would like.

Anyway... it's a new day today. I missed dinner with my son yesterday but we were able to get together after my meeting today. So, all is good in my world.

You people have been so very kind these past few weeks and I feel as though I have been so very remiss. Thank you for all the kind comments. I'm very tired from so little sleep last night, but I did take a few morning pics (including a bone for toeskr). While I am pleased you all liked the last story, I wrote it on my phone at one of the other airports I visited last week. Hence, I had little ability to edit and it really bothers me that I used "indulgent" twice toward the end.

Anyway, thanks for hanging in there with me. I sincerely hope all has been well for you all these past couple weeks. I'm home again (in theory) on Wednesday and don't have to travel again until mid-July.

Have a fantastic week sexy friends. Think about me stuck in the conference room with 20 other academics all day again tomorrow. :( Maybe some of your positive vibes will travel my way and enter through my aura leaving me all warm and tingly.

damn I'm so close to National, I could have kept you company while you were waiting
:rose:

But, I was at Dulles anyway
. :(

But, I was at Dulles anyway
. :(

Dulles, land of the people crawler. Worst designed airport in the US. Only would chose that one over Reagan because I could get a non stop. Regan was way more convenient however, just hated the connection in Chicago. I'm sure it's good to be back home after a trip, that's the way I always feel. Even though the trip is exciting. But no vacation for HWW this year.

We intended to land at National. But,the pothole had us diverted. This was the second fiasco in a week - after the slide broke off the plane we were supposed to take out of Scotland, causing us to miss our flight in Toronto to get home. Then the problems yesterday. Ugh.

I'm in DC now and hoping I don't have any trouble getting home Wednesday.

BTW - I like the right side up avatar.

fortunate that your plane ride ended successfully.... I do know what you mean with less than ideal travel.

I see you were able to relax ;) very gorgeous sexy beautiful... might have to relieve some of my travel stress with those ... warm and tingly indeed:devil:

Kittyscave is the see-through blouse the one you are wearing with the skirt in the photo above?

Is that what you wore to dinner?
What I would have given to have a mom so good looking.

Sweet momma. You are looking quite ravishing. Hello darling

Just love the photos and the gif. Wonder where your hand was going?

Typical airlines, wouldn't have been simpler to have deplaned and for them to lay on coaches to trial the last 23 miles.

I'm sorry you're experiencing a series of first world problems K. These days we all treat the miracle of national and international same day travel as nothing different than getting a hamburger at McDonald's.

I don't mean just you K. We've all lost our sense of awe and wonder about things that would amaze our great great grandparents and even some people in remote places of the world today.

Lovely pictures as always (even that one in the other thread). Your eye for composition is nearly as good as mischevious glint in your other eye.

I hope you defend your grants, win the academic wars and are hailed as Queen of the Ivory Halls. If not, how about a drink or three at the hotel bar? I promise to be good. :D Oh so good! ;)

Cheers

I'm sorry you had a rough flight, always the way with airports...maybe a requirement for most of them I'd say. Glad it all worked out in the end for you. Nice to see family, and relax.

Love the photo set, beautiful outfit, and a gorgeous woman.

Thank you sweet friends for your lovely comments.

The grant review is completed and I'll head back home tomorrow. Did you know that Trader Joe's sells wine in a can? It's true!!! The Georgia girl in me wants to drink it straight from the can, but the DC lodger girl insists we use the wine glass provided in my fancy schmancy hotel room. So, wine glass it is. Before you conclude that I am completely gauche, red wine makes me flush badly these days, so I've had to resort to white. Actually, had they sold American Honey in a can, I'd be tipsy on that right now. Amazing what a cheap date I become when I haven't eaten hardly anything during the day.

Anyhoo... I'm going to work now on the paper due in my leadership class on Thursday if for no other reason than to amuse myself when I read it tomorrow.

Have an awesome night you lovely imaginative people whom I'd love to accost in an ally!!:kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss:

Oh, this is my lovely new Victoria Secret bra. It cost too much, but it's comfortable. Comfort is important when you reach my age.

Shit, I used lovely twice and can't think of a good synonym right now.

That's a great picture, I love how the lights going through the wine glass and the mirroring effect on you of the glass. Lovely bra, lovelier lady.

...

Handy in a can for sure, less worries then the cork...but you don't get the pop...hmm, you do get the click of the can opening...hard one for sure.

I'd say as long is it taste good for you, and you can relax after a long day all good either way.

As for the bra, comfort is always a plus. Though it does look very sexy on you a bonus i say for those two points. Always a time for naughty and playful, but comfort is a must for a day to day...
