Today I'll go to my colleagues funeral. I haven't been to many. Thankfully, I haven't lost many folks. Those friends and family I have lost were often too many miles away at times of fund shortages. When my father passed away in '09, it was compounded by a colleague and a friend's teenage son dying. The three occurred in a 2 month span around Thanksgiving. It was pretty devastating.

I'm not religious or spiritual and I believe that all we have is our time on earth. So, when it's gone, it's gone and that makes me very sad.

So, I wanted to thank you all for contributing to and enriching my life. I try to take nothing for granted and that includes the friendship and warm thoughts you all have offered me.

Now, in order to not become morose and down, I'll share with you that yesterday was a Hawaiian sundress day. It's sunny and HOT today (blech), but I am here to complain about it. What more could I want? :)

So sorry for your loss I know it can be tough to deal with all alone. There are many ways to take your mind off your loss and make you feel better.

It's difficult to type right now. HA! As many of you know, I am a researcher at heart, particularly for all things nutrition related. So, I've been wondering how alcohol, particularly my beloved American Honey, affects my metabolism. So, I woke up and drank 4 oz of it. Christ it's difficult to type right now. :)

Gonna test blood sugar at 30 min., 1 hour and 2 hours to help convince me to stop drinking. But, it appears to be MUCH more potent first thing in the morning. Sheesh!!! My arms are very heavy.

If you ever wanted to take advantage of me, now's the time. :devil:

On the upside, I don't give a shit at the current moment.

I hope you'll enjoy the music when you have heard it. And yes she's an amazing artist. I've been following her for the last 7 years or so, and she's getting more and more attention, and still she seems like a very grounded person, and I hope she'll get a long career.
