I'm in an introverted mood tonight. Got feedback on a book I'm writing. It was exactly the sort of honest and constructive feedback I needed. It basically said, define your audience better, don't be a judgmental asshole, and allow more of your authentic self to come through. It was definitely what I needed in a review and I am thankful for friends who will be so blunt and honest with me.

It put me in an introspective mood, too, though. Not just about the book... I need to develop grit if I'm going to see this through. But about everything... relationships, life, aspirations, priorities, wondering about what's behind door #3.

So, I'm going to crawl into my mind tonight. It's dark, but it's also reflective. I have to get in touch with the authentic vulnerable me in a way that doesn't bruise my feelings. And when I find them bruised, I have to figure out why and see how I can use that.

I have to do this without drinking or crying or getting too excited or digressing, as I often do. That's beyond my comfort zone. On the other hand, that's entirely why I'm writing.

Completely agree with the feedback you received. Someone providing honest feedback on your writings, sometimes as hurtful as it can be, is often what you need to strive to better.

The mind is a dark and emotional place, I know mine is. But it's a journey that needs to be taken if you seek fulfillment. Closed doors often provide the most knowledge, once opened.
