I've tried to read a few of the 'New' stories over the last few days.

But as we saw in the "Rip Me To Shreds" thread, what one person considers clunky is another person's descriptive style, and that person might find the first person's barebones narrative flat and overly simple.
We are all here looking for different things?

I really struggle to read scifi and incest. It just doesnt do anything for me.

But to others however badly its written its the best thing since sliced bread.

I get the art of these things too.

Hey ho. I will keep trying and ultimately failing :)

That one is not mine, but thing is...some of us are dyslexic, and unless Word or Goggle docs tell you there is problem, you can read it five times and still miss the clunky sentence structure.
Some people have reported that having software read the words aloud helps. I'd think that would be especially useful for a person with dyslexia, since it skips the whole visual recognition part.

Yes, I have a logistics problem to doing that, but I keep meaning to try it :)

I got few complaints that my stories leave impression that I’m not fluent in English. It is because I, surprise-surprise, am not fluent in English ;)

I don’t get a chance to discuss sex novels in professional environment of my daily life (sadly!), and hiring tutors for the sake of becoming a better unpaid porn writer seems like an unwise investment.

I’m very much open to readers pointing out flaws in my texts, and I dream of a great editor, who would descend from the skies one day and offer help. So far it hasn’t happened yet, so all I can do is to proceed as-is to the best of my abilities.
Here are users who help you on a voluntary and unpaid/non-commercial basis. The translations of my 2 German stories were made firstly by me and the help of the Google translator as my English is not good enough and were then reviewed by a (very) nice guy. As it is his hobby he needed two weeks but I am (very) fine with that and according to a comment, his English is very good.

That seems rather bitter! Have you had some stories booted?

AI is certainly going to be come more difficult to discover automatically as it gets better, but it's never going to truly innovate, so humans will be the ones writing the most interesting stuff.

I expect where this ends up is:

* Good writers write the best stuff;
* AI writes the formulaic, unsurprising, but competent stuff;
* Beginning writers will write the worst stuff.

Humans will occupy the ends of the bell curve. Machines the middle.
You're right about your categories. But I have to disagree that beginning writers write the worst stuff. Yes, some do, but not all. I've been here a very long time and I've seen writers who have been at it a long time that can't write a tale that is coherent much less one that is entertaining. Some people just can't do what they want to do. I'd love to sing, but when I try a tom cat on a fence at midnight could do a better job. I will give those I mentioned above cudos though, for perseverance. I'm, not sure I'd have that much sticktoitness in me.

But the fact that AI's will take over the mediocre middle is on point. They will. they use perfect punctuation and word usage, but the writing always seems hollow, 'cause it ain't got no soul.

Those people, like you, who can step way the hell out of their comfort zone, like writing in a language you aren't fluent in, are on another level from me. I'm not sure I'd have the Keimdrüsen to do that.

None of us are Hemingway here. We all have stories that we ay have worked hard on that are either not doing well or they are doing very well. I don't care of someone's story is better than mine or not. I don't pay much attention to that. I only care about mine, and how they are doing.
