Jenny’s house of fun.

I love ”happy”-sounding songs that makes you wanna dance and sing, but that actually have sad lyrics.
This one is about a nervous breakdown and really hits way too close to home. But I still love it so much.

”Put me in the hospital for nerves
And then they had to commit me
You told them all I was crazy
They cut off my legs, now I'm an amputee, God damn you
I'm not sick but I'm not well
And I'm so hot 'cause I'm in Hell
I'm not sick but I'm not well”

I love James Joyce.
I think he writes so beautifully and his command of the written English language is amazing.
When me and my husband went to Paris, I made him go with me so we could stand outside where Joyce used to live, and we went to some cafés where he used to drink.
The Dubliners is probably my favorite, but I love them all.

"I went in on tiptoe. The room through the lace end of the blind was suffused with dusky golden light amid which the candles looked like pale thin flames. He had been coffined. Nannie gave the lead and we three knelt down at the foot of the bed. I pretended to pray but I could not gather my thoughts because the old woman's mutterings distracted me. I noticed how clumsily her skirt was hooked at the back and how the heels of her cloth boots were trodden down all to one side. The fancy came to me that the old priest was smiling as he lay there in his coffin."

Samuel Taylor Coleridge was a drug addict and slowly going mad. But he wrote beatifully and I’ve always loved this part from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

The Sun now rose upon the right:
Out of the sea came he,
Still hid in mist, and on the left
Went down into the sea.
And the good south wind still blew behind,
But no sweet bird did follow,
Nor any day for food or play
Came to the mariner’s hollo!

Like my mom always used to say, saturday is gangbang day.
(she never said that)

Love this song! It's my anthem

”That moment she was mine, mine, fair,
Perfectly pure and good: I found
A thing to do, and all her hair
In one long yellow string I wound
Three times her little throat around,
And strangled her.”

From Robert Browning’s beautiful poem Porphyria's Lover written in 1836.
Look it up!
