I do believe that this past weekend was the Harris campaign’s “jump the shark” moment. It started with Barak Obama chiding black men to vote for a woman and was followed with this spot as a campaign ad;

Men?

The ad was hastily scripted and acted out by some really, really, bad (unbelievable) actors. All in all acts of desperation. It’s pretty obvious that they know they’re in deep trouble.

So what do they do? They trot out this ad and mantra that men should vote for Harris because she’s a woman without answering the question, “Why?” The whole weekends activities seemed to be trotted out under the premise that men, as a group, are just brain dead fools, easily manipulated and given a generation or two more of public education they probably will be. As a side note there is no evidence that women are doing any better in the public education system when it comes to the ability for critical thought being nurtured.

It’s also obvious that they know that this effort has blown up in their face hence the “hail Mary” agreement to sit down on FOX news for an interview. Anyone with half a brain knows that that decision is fraught with danger for the candidate with very little chance of there being an “upside.”

And the final irony is a political party telling men how to be “men” that can’t even define what a woman is. You can’t make this shit up.

"Why" is because Obama says so. That's enough. Black men never before went wrong by trusting him, and they know it.

Still better than a convicted felon and rapist.

Here's what I believe.

I believe that the D's knew Joe wasn't up to the job and they knew Trump would wipe the floor with him. Which turned out to be true.

What the D's also knew is that Kamala isn't capable of being President. Her prior run was a disaster and she was only the VP because Biden made a stupid statement that his VP was going to be a woman of color. Of all the possible candidates, Kamala was the least unpalatable so she became VP.

Now, knowing that Joe wasn't going to win, and that Kamala wasn't popular enough to win on her own, a strategy was devised. Some here even alluded to it; a bait and switch and how clever it was. That strategy was to begin with Joe and see how it develops but hold Kamala in reserve just in case. The trick to this strategy is to understand that in 2020 Kamala lasted about 4 months before everyone saw straight through her and her brainlessness was revealed. So, if you're going to use her as a substitute, it has to be done on that timeline. She has a 4 month use by date.

Joe proved he's incapable during the Trump debate. Yet even with that, the D's resisted the swap for weeks until mid July. Even at the last moment, Joe was still saying he was in it to win it. Only when it became obvious that he was going to lose did he bow out, over a weekend, via a written letter. For the next week there was turmoil but eventually everyone calmed down and Kamala rose to prominence.

But, it was too early. Kamala didn't get the bump from the convention she and the D's were clearly hoping for because people were remembering her earlier campaign. And, just like in 2020, the initial enthusiasm for her campaign faded away. Had the D's been able to hold off until August, she might have carried the "new candidate smell" past the election but that's long gone at this point.

Or so I believe. YMMV.

Thanks for sharing, tampon tim.

It’s always interesting to hear what a conspiracy nut believes.

The reaction to Obama's lecture/tirade was bad enough but at least, from a damage assessment perspective, it was targeted to a segment of the male population. The "Men" ad is targeted at ALL men, huge mistake. What's even worse is that ad is being mocked, laughed at, the very worst thing that can happen to a message meant to be serious.

So you're not voting for Harris?

The number of threads proclaiming victory laps in this forum always astonishes me

Conspiracy? Exactly what "conspiracy" am I putting forth?

HisArpy's alt has been exposed.

One of them, anyway. It's not like he doesn't have, like, a dozen other ones, though some of these (Wizzard1488 and Glamorilla for example) have been banned.

On the other hand, I can see why some women might vote for Harris because Sam Elliott said so....that doesn't really help her with men, but it helps in general, even if only in a small way. In this tight of an election, I'll take what I can get.

My pitch to my fellow men would like, "Hey, you know how you shouldn't put your dick in crazy? Well, voting is like that. Don't vote for crazy. Trump is crazy. Just use logic, use that big, analytical brain of yours that you and I both have, and weigh things rationally. You'll see that I'm right."

It might not sway all of the young guys, but it might sway some. It's a "no-nonsense" appeal to logic, reason, and common sense. It won't reach hard-core MAGAs, but swing voters who are still willing to listen to reason? Sure, why not? We don't need all of them, just enough to hold or flip some battleground states.

He looked like a hostage.

He's tired, he did not want to do this.

Every time he does, a little of the cachet of his Presidency is stripped away...

They are going to use him up leaving him, tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit...,

torn, tired and twisted (in the wind, blowing like an answer, a fated tumbleweed, a jaded, faded, jaded, a jaded Mandarin).

I watched a couple of black content creator's reviews of his little 'talk' and they literally ripped him a new one. They couldn't understand why he'd put himself in such a stupid position.

When you see a narcissist do this, the immediate thought is always, what do they have on him?

He looked like there was a gun to his head; pure desperation.

His legacy is safe without Kamala,

with it?

She's fucking bagpipes. She might even be Scottish!

Who knows at this point?

Just admit you conflated reading with seeing and move the fuck on.

No need to even lick wounds; it's not like it's a fight or anything. Or is it? Paid by the post or the letter?
