I would be careful: The POS may be trying to set you up.

Have you ever given a good reference to another laid-off employee who didn’t meet performance standards??? If so, the POS may know you gave those other laid-off sub-standard employees a good reference and could prove you are targeting the POS.

Lol. You must have missed my posts where I mention I have voted for an equal number of Republicans and Democrats for President. But if you think only "commie libs" are anti-Trump I can see why you have been so confused for so long.

Ordinarily I don't enjoy having to provide names for a RIF. But yeah, it was much easier this time.

Unless you hear from the reference that the candidate is extraordinary and that the reference would hire them in a heartbeat. It is a red flag. I learned that over time. So if you are ever asked to give a reference for someone you like, you need to really talk your pal up. So even if I don't mention the poor performance review and just say he was competent. That is not what the hiring manager wants to hear from a reference.

Yeah, I was just recommending you be consistent with how you respond to any requests for a reference for that POS. Maybe go back and review any e-mail references (if you still have them) you gave to laid-off employees with similar performance issues.

I find it highly suspect that the POS would ask you for a reference: Did the POS think you two were on good terms???
