I'll try to share some of my interest with you now that I'm free... In more ways then one, mind you...

Arts and crafts:

I draw a little, mostly fantasy weapons and women. I like drawing portraits from photographs.

I crochet, I've made fluffy weapons, cloaks, bags of various sizes, winter hats, infinity scarves, cat toys, a head pillow of the tardis from Dr who, fingerless gloves, a wizards hat or two... all without patterns, I just go by eye and feel it out.

I've brewed some beer, but that was with a kit... I made apple jack a few times, it was yeasty, but it was okay, I don't know how strong it was, but it got me drunk, also it must have worked. I make cordial occasionally, my best s something I call pixies blood it's brandy flavored with strawberry, cinnamon and cloves. I've made probably like two dozen different combinations over the years, can't remember them all now, probably because I drank them... Hiccup!

I have a small collection of walking sticks I've made myself and a pouch full of polished stones I made too.

I'm probably a beer snob, I'd rather pay for quality than quantity. Wine will do in a pinch, but I don't know as much about that as I do about beer. That there are so many ipas on the market these days frustrates me, because I absolutely love Porter, which seems to be pretty hard to find amongst the overly hopped and bitter stuff that is everywhere these days. But like music, this is a whole rabbit hole we can go down later.

Gaming, table top and video is another one we could go into.

Tv and movies is another.

Well maybe not, they have a who box full of toys that they barely touch. You must be very talented to do it by eye and without a pattern. I don't think I could do that.

You will have to tell me more about your beer making and the types of beer you like another time. That is very interesting as well. Pixies blood sounds very good. I don't drink that much but I can enjoy a good beer.

Yes, we will have to talk more about games, movies, tv, etc another day. Gives us more of a reason to chat, since I do enjoy talking with you so far.

I suppose I'm something of a jack of all trades... I like to dabble in new things. Curse of being a gemini, and a snake I guess.

I don't believe that there is any terrible art, I know we are all our own worst critics, there's some charm in everyone's self expression, it just takes the time to have the eyes to see it.

There's art I don't get though, like just throwing paint at a canvas... That just seems lazy to me...

Now... Rolling in paint and then making love to make a piece of art... That I would appreciate!

Blankets... *Hissing like a cat* the one thing I can't seem to do... Mine... Wobble! I don't keep consistent tension throughout the whole process! I've gotten better, I used to be really tight, but I've loosened up since I first started.

Quite honestly, patterns confuse me, Ive only just learning some of the short hand for stitches. It's just easier for me to sort of just feel my way through things. I know my work isn't as pretty as my mother's, she can do some beautiful stuff!

She has been making baby yoda's lately and they are so absolutely adorable!

Okay, well, the beer kit was kind of a joke, you start with a syrup, so all you really end up doing is setting the syrup up to steep and then put it in a barrel to brew for a month... That's... About all there is to that... Very prefab. Anticlimactic, right?

Apple jack isn't too much different, actually, but there is the satisfaction of knowing that I'm the one who actually started the fermentation process. Probably not fda recommend, but you just put a cup of sugar and a table spoon of yeast into a gallon of cider and let it ferment for a month. I used baking yeast and it worked, but you really should probably get brewers yeast and a safe keg to brew it in, just to be safe. I was probably flirting with danger, the way I did it.

I can go into depth about my favorite beers any time you like, I'm surprised that it's not a boring topic!

I'm quite proud of pixies blood, I came up with the name after watching the labyrinth for like the billionth time. Pixies are savage little biters, you know! Don't pay their looks fool you!


Any time you feel like it, we can go into the multi media rabbit hole!

Niel Gaiman's The Sandman, it changed my life. It started as a graphic novel series, there's an audiobook of it, and soon netflix will have an original series of it too.

It definitely sounds like you are a jack of all trades. I am somewhat like that myself. I think its because I have a short attention span. I jump around in my hobbies and don't stick at one thing for a long time, lest I get bored. Writing is the main hobby I seem to never tire of. What I would really like right now is to get back into playing music, but, I not have any type of instruments right now. Nothing wrong with having multiple interests. Keeps you from getting bored.

You may not believe in terrible art, but, you have yet to see mine. No I am kidding. It is not that bad, but, not that great either. My paintings are not just me throwing paint at a canvas, but, sometimes they come out looking like that. My problem is I like to free hand when I paint and don't trace or draw the picture on first, so it doesn't always turn out. But, hey its the fun had while doing it right?

Now, rolling in paint and making love on the canvas would be a type of art I could get behind. It would make a big mess, but, who cares.

As for crocheting, blankets are easy for me since they are just squares. Its when you get fancy that I just cant really do it. I tried crocheting a baby hat for the hospital and it ended up more for a toddler or child, wayyyy too big.

Why would I find you talking about your favourite beers boring? I like to learn what people enjoy. I am sure there will be times I will ramble on about something and you will be a captive *smirks* audience

I am willing to talk about favourite books, movies, tv, etc at any time. Or like with The Sandman, just dropping things you like here and there is good as well. I have not ready The Sandman myself but I took at look about what it is about and I think I would be interested in watching a series about it on Netflix. You will have to let me know when it airs.

What instruments do you play? That is the one thing I truly envy, making music, I love it so, but I never learned how to play anything, other than a small part of the theme from MASH on piano and a little improv on a hand drum. When I'm alone I do sing a little.

I have different moods when I make art, ranging from just for fun, to the occasional intense, going without sleep, food etc. Until I am satisfied with the outcome.

The movie 100 girls is where I first saw the romantic idea of making art by making love in paint. It's a cute, funny movie, that I only have on vhs and for some reason have paired with the dark comedy, The Last Supper, another flick I would recommend.

Well then, I'll tell you, my favorite go to beers are vanilla java porter, red stripe and corona. But I really enjoy making sampler packs of random flavor beers. German beer is amazing.

I will definitely let you know when the Netflix series becomes available. In the meantime, some of my favorite originals on netflix are love death and robots, black mirror and the witcher, the song in it is just so damn catchy!

I play multiple instruments. I started with piano when I was young, then I played flute, then saxophone. Since I play flute and saxophone, any woodwind type instrument is similar and I am sure I could figure them out. Oh, I love The Witcher. I was disappointed that it will be so long before season 2. Another series I like on Netflix is Cursed. But then again, I like anything that is medieval and has a strong feminine lead. I don't know if you can find it anywhere, but, you should look into The Legend of the Seeker, where the character Kahlan Amnell is from. I really do like that series, though it diverts from the books quite a bit.

I like to play all types of music on the instruments and for singing the same. I have a very wide rang of music that I like. Only thing I cannot get into is scream metal, some rap and some of the hip hop songs, but, not all. When I used to sing it was mostly music chosen mostly for competitions, not sure what genre they would be. I have sung a song from Les Miserable as well. I also won a singing contest with a country song as well, though, to be honest it wasnt that hard to win, it was just a competition at a dance in my tiny hometown and not against actual trained singers.

Tell me your sister at least teaches music? If not, too bad. Good music teachers are hard to come by.

Yes you need to watch the witcher when you are focused on the show, there is alot of jumping around that can make you lose the story if you are not paying attention. I have a tendancy to turn all videos/tv off when I write. I put on classical or instrumental music so I am not distracted with wanting to sing along with the song either. I used to do the same when working on work for school. Hence why I listen to alot of Lindsey Stirling.

I looked up the Mythica series and it does look like something I would like to watch. I will have to find it somewhere. If your roommate left you Legend of the Seeker you definintely need to watch it.
