The knife I'm referring to is a Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife. Nether edge is sharp. That is the way it came from the factory although when issued there were instructions on how to sharpen the edges.

I am damn careful with my slave. In over 10 years of pretty hard play there has only been a single accident. A very small burn from some fire play. She didn't even tell me until the next morning. No doctor or ER visits.
I do agree with njguy55's comment about keeping knives sharp. More people have been cut with dull blades then with sharp ones. All of my working knives are sharp. My few play knives are dull.
