Laurel & Manu You are called to account.

<Shaking head in disbelief>

You: So, I'm yielding to logic, and taking the path of least resistance and greater satisfaction.

Me: Need we say more?

You should've asked for help, instead you strike out at the very person you rely upon to publish your story in the first place.

So many tools here to assist that you have chosen to avoid.

Good luck with that.

There's other sites that have invited me to submit and post my work, so I'll put my works up at those locations and on my blog.

Your choice. I have submitted elsewhere and never received the responses I have here.

Best of luck with that

You'll be back, or will remain unfullfilled. Your choice..

I stood in your shoes nearly a year ago. I had submitted a story with no underage sex, but it was rejected with the same notice that you received. I came on one of these boards and posted a rant (although not nearly so confrontational as yours). Other authors suggested that I re-submit the story and insert a sentence in the author's notes section stating that there were no characters engaging in underage sex. I followed that advice. Three days later, my story posted.

Bottom line: it's not that big of a deal, and it is easily remedied.

Quote:
"Lit. Fact One (not that there was a reason you should have known it beforehand, of course): A human editor isn't going to read your story before the computer selection program scans it and may reject it--unless you put a note in the notes box. Putting a note in the note box will flip it to the human editor. A disclaimer on top is part of the text; it won't be seen if the computer program has stopped the process on it."

WHY do you think I kept making sure to put words into the box??? It says clearly that if you do a Human will look things over.

I noted later--after reading what you said that you put in the box--that you didn't put in the box anything related to why you said you were being rejected. You have to put something relating to the issue in the box.

I had a story rejected because a character poured a drink of 12 year old whiskey. I changed it to Lafite Rothschild 1982 and it went through with no trouble at all.

That's why I only drink 18 year old scotch, and I've given up Beaujolais Nouveau.
