I was a futa Raven for Halloween once.

Zatanna is another great one, top hat and fishnets are hard to beat.

I guess BTVS counts as "lowbrow," if Marvel and Springsteen do. Big influence there.

Victorian pornography? I think it's my original sin as a reader, truth be told. It's hard to feature anything so mannered and stuffy as really lowbrow, but when you get down to it, porn is porn.

The first thing I found in a used book shop was a paperback collection of "The Pearl." Then, I think it was "A Man With A Maid." There were some others, but I don't remember the titles now. I'm not sure that all of them really dated back to that era; I think there were knock-offs in there. It was mysterious territory, to me.

Jesus. I haven't thought about the Mack Bolan series since I was a teen.

Those were some fun kick ass books.
