Luna's Haven~closed save for invitees.

*turns quickly and tackles Draggy, tickling him mercilessly* You're tagged now.

*responds and tags Luna* Now about our other thread :D And no comment about my thoughts of bringing in some fully grown Thunderkittens in the Cheetara thread?

Home...for a quick visit. As her dadi will be coming to call in but a few minutes in the RW. I walk inside and laugh as Gray attacks my toes. He is getting larger, obviously my morose mood hasn't stopped him from eating...and eating well.

"Hi hi, big boy. Only stopped to check on you, make sure the cabin was secure."

Not staying to play? Bad Wolfy....

"Can't. let me set the sigil on the door and make sure the little exit is big enough for you. Then I have to go hug a tree and say a prayer."

Soon enough, chores were done and i was outside with Gray growling playfully as i walked the copse of trees nearest my cabin. There was linden's tree. Delicate, beautiful, much like the Dryad herself. I touched it lightly and said a small prayer before moving on to the Ash just behind it.

*slips up to the cabin, leaving a plate of Nachos for the vulf, and a medium rare steak for the cub, then slips away quiety*

Returning from the real world, my head pounding, my eyes heavy. Want to sleep, just doesn't seem like something that is going to happen any time soon. With slow steps, I turn away from the cabin and head out into the woods. I don't want to be bothered...and I wonder if there is a small waterfall hidden somewhere in my woods. No choice but to go looking for it.

An hour of walking...maybe more but I begin to hear the rushing of water over leaves and boulders. I raise my nose, sniffing the air delicately and then turn slightly to the left. Soon enough, I see it...and it is beautiful.

Feet lead me closer as clothes are slipped off and left lying, on the ground. The water promises a respite...and i need that, desperately.

Water feels good. It soothes me. Still contains traces of heat from the day. I move slowly toward the fall itself, clambering over rocks to stand in the spray. If I cry here...no one will know...and that is good.

*leaves breakfast for the vulf, then runs off to try to find some posts to respond to*

Today had been a pretty good day, in the RW. I slept for once, and did not dream. Now, it is late and those few late owls that must arrive at the job are finally here. I have nothing left to worry about until 5 am.

So, since the RW is quiet and calm, I decide to come to my haven and think on things old and new, lost and found, gone and returned. My feet carry me outside, into the coolness of the night. The moon is hidden behind trees and clouds but I know she is there so I blow her a kiss and sink down into lotus on my front porch.

All is silent.

Prologue

There is a place that is NOT a place, more of a feeling. It is there~ where everything is a faded shade of bright, like old forgotten tinsel, that one can find just about anything, if they know the right words, the right steps, the right code. It is there, in the Summer lands, that one can find their heart's desire or... if not that...as close an approximation as can be bought, traded, sold.

It is not the mortal sphere. The colors, even the brightest ones, are muted, almost a representation and not the real thing. The trees look like paintings, the moon never goes beyond the sickle phase~always waxing, never waning~and the sun does not come up over the horizon. This is not to say that beauty can not be found or that the rich tapestry of court life gives little joy. That would be an unfair statement, in any way one can think of.

But the Summer lands are not located in the physical realm, nor are they easily obtained. A person has to need them, believe that they are there, be consumed with a desire to see them, obsessed with the idea. Beyond obsession. They have to KNOW without doubt that the next turning~widdershins, at the dark of the moon~will lead them to the right door, the right place. And then? They have to make that turning.

In the higher courts, the better Fae mounds, those places Titania and Oberon grace with their presence from time to time? The fantasy is as realistic as those of unending beauty can make it. The colors are almost as rich, almost as varied, as in the mortal realm. The wind sighs, the trees rustle, move, bend. It is not like that in the poorer places, the ones almost completely removed from mortal imagination but even those have their own ethereal beauty.

This Sidhe is one of those.

This Fae mound is located in the back of the beyond, a small wood on a lonely mountain, located far from the usual haunts of civilization. What that means is there hasn't been human contact in forever and the colors, the imagination, the rich tapestry that makes life worth living has all but fled.

The fields never gain a green hue, the sky never has a sliver of light, the trees look more like sketches done by a heavy hand. Even the small court located here contains only a few of the Sidhe. Most others have traveled on, to other spaces, to richer pickings, to a more congenial environment. Those who stay here? They do so for sheer cussed stupidity or blindness to the fact this mound, these Fae, are fading, dying, leaving, going...and once the last bit of imagination has gone...the belief faded? The mound, their home, shall fade into the mist, never to return.

Misty WinterRose understands it but, as the youngest of the Sidhe, there isn't much she can do. One of the small court of the Fae, a princess of flowers, almost a dryad in her make-up, she doesn't require the belief of humans as others do. She doesn't feed on their emotions, nor require their knowledge. She is a nature sprite and proud. It is probably THIS very pride that caused her fall.

Sidhe Draoi

There is a willow that guards the entrance to the Mound. Misty is usually the first line of defense, as that tree is her home away from home. No one knows just how the willow ended up so high on the mountain, with only a rushing ice cold stream near by...but it matters not. That has been her home since before the very first Vikings made their way to the shores of America. It is her home now.

She doesn't look like the others who call the Fae Mound home. They are pale to her green, lithe to her curvaceousness, aloof to her giddy. She is younger than they and more in tune with the seasons. It is a gift and a curse, as she notices the passing of time for more readily than the Seelie Sidhe inside the Mound. It is what is.

Breakfast done. Lights off. Windows cleaned. Exhaustion kicking my ass. yup. All of the above.

I have been awake all night, now I am home and i should be relaxing. I should be in bed but I am not. Why is that? I stretch and glance out the window toward the woods that surround my little cabin in the clearing. Maybe I will write the posts due. Maybe my brain will allow me to get that much together. Maybe.

I pull out my lap top and give Sasha's post a once over. Lorena? Think.

The typing stops as quickly as it began. I know where I am going next....but does she?No matter. Even if she has no clue at all, she will find out sooner or later. I stand up, yawn, stretch and turn away from my roll top desk. Time to go say hello to the sun before bed....

Maya Dawn Prayer~excerpt from Grandmothers of the Light

Look at us, hear us!
Heart of Heaven, Heart of Earth!
Give us our descendants, our succession
As long as the sun shall move!
May the People have peace,
May they be happy!
Give us good life,
Grandmother of the Sun, Grandmother of the Light,
Let there be dawn, let the light come!

I look up, eyes wide. Ondine had taken over for a bit and I can taste fear. Now, Lorena.

I arrive at the Luna's door. My appearance is swift with none of my usual subtlety.

"Luna?" I call out to her to see if she is truly there and if she's welcoming visitors.

"I was just thinking about you, Luna."

I hear a very missed voice and jump up, rushing to the door and practically bowling him over....

"hey you!!"

A tight hug, lips pressing against his cheek...

"How are you? Did you see the picture I plan on using for Misty in her Fae form?"

As always the affections of this wolf woman were missed. The hug is returned her kiss on the cheek is exchanged for a kiss on her cheek, it seems only fair.

"I saw some of your writing about her. I've seen a waterfall new to your haven and a view of the moon through the trees, but somehow I've missed your vision of Misty." I feel a little guilty for not putting more thought into my own creation, but life has taken a bit of a strong hold on my mind.

"If you'd like I could seek out a picture for my own character, but its something I usually avoid. I'm not an adept internet hunter and the picture to portray myself usually evades me. I have been putting some thought into him and his inner workings, but I'm guessing less than you have for his counterpart."

I enter the haven feeling welcome in this place. Welcomed not only by Luna, but the knowledge she's been thinking of our future thread.

I tug him inside, my face lit up with a wicked grin. After pushing him onto the couch, I curl up next to him, resting my head on his shoulder.

"I am just excited, is all, and Misty is going to be in an unusual position, for me. I figure she can look like whatever in human seeming but it was important that I found the right sort of Dryad photo for her.

I don't really plan on using photos in our thread though, as physical description usually gives me more to work with...but the Fae form was needful, just because I wanted to have something to BASE her on..."

My words sputter into silence. I am glad he is here but I know he has to disappear sooner, rather than later...

"Anyway, I know the RW is giving you a ass kicking...no worries if your thoughts aren't like mine. You are excused...."

One small hand comes up to play at his nape, nails trailing softly over flesh.

"Its not just work. There's just a lot of different things going on in my real world. They're all good, fortunately, but there are a lot of them." A smile crosses my face as I realize that I have a slight surprise for her.

"I have the day off tomorrow and the next day. I can't guarantee my time will be free, but not having an early morning tomorrow means I'm allowed to have a later night tonight. I'm not going away just yet, beautiful wolf."

I know she wants the save play in this place for another before any others and I should behave. I doubt I do a good job of keeping my lust hidden though. My eyes are the problem. It always shows through in my eyes.

A husky laugh as his words clarify the situation, just a bit. I glance up, light brown eyes locking with his. Oh, he is a ready sort.

"Hmm, this IS good news."

My other hand slips over a chest, down toward a flat belly.

"Does this mean that if I were to drag you to the Outlook, you wouldn't run away?"

A wicked grin....

"I would tell you just that I would never run away, but we both know that's a lie. We've seemed to be inexorably star crossed, but that thought seems a bit dramatic." I shrug and disappear out the door.

"All we can do is see."

Husky laughter, followed by cursing. Hell, in the RW, I need to run away...for at least 45 minutes. My luck, he will be gone before I return.

Oh well, the reality portal opens...and I disappear.
