From time immemorial, aren't humans judiciously "amalgammating" different personas for different situations. A parent has a different persona for their kids, entirely different one at workplace, another one for good childhood friends and yet another one for formal acquaintances, and then as husband/wife/lover. I wouldn't go as far as calling them different personalities. Its just different responsibilities we don as per situations.

Yeah there's a term for when this happens linguistically called 'style switching'. It's a pretty universally human thing.

I mean, sure, the crimefighter-by-night, county-clerk-by-day "I don't know who I am anymore" stuff is romantic as all hell but kinksters sooo don't have the patent on it.

I did AS level Psychology and its one of the first basics you learn; people aren't the same everywhere.
