Let me go on record. There is a line that must not be crossed in any group that is never crossed. Those coming to a minister rabbi etc must be trusted that that are there for counseling and the person coming to them can have full trust in that. Just my opinion

My questions have always been more along the lines of things seen inadvertantly, never anything direct. However when he said the women seemed to flirt with him I was just aiming for definitions.

It’s hard to say. It’s such a taboo that I dare not even think about it but I confess that I have occasionally wondered if a woman was being flirtatious. I will acknowledge that there are some very attractive women in my congregation.

I have seen things like this destroy people. It is a dangerous place to open yourself or put yourself in a situation where these flirtatious feeling can be acted upon. For both parties. (Let me say I am no pastor or are really in theses situations) just sayin.

It is kind of a thorny subject. Deep discussion of religion and morals is very personal, and sex has huge implications in adult relationships, so its not uncommon to be brought up. From that feelings could easily develop...no different than how feelings can develop for therapists and clients however.

But no one should put much thought into pastoral headlines. The media loves to sensationalize news, and so every pastoral event will be a huge scandal and headline.

I'll share this from my experience. I was in a church youth group. When my class graduated from high school, the 'younger' girls from the class behind us became the 'top dogs' of the group and that year a new Youth Minister came to the church. He was a good-looking guy, maybe 22 or 23. The girls just swarmed him. I do not know if there was any actual hanky-panky. I hope not. But this poor guy had these barely legal gals throwing themselves at him.
