Wow, I think I'd rather have snow. They say if everyone piled their troubles in the middle of the floor and could then choose any of the troubles there, everyone would just want their own back after seeing what other people were dealing with.

very tired myself. He shrugs, anxious and such on top of it all, but trying to keep it together." he shrugs, "But can't complain." he laughs. "New music in 3 hours... can't complain too much, right?"

What are you anxious about? Is the job offer coming along?

"Anxiety is something I live with on a daily basis. it just depends on the day how severe it is."

he nods at Thyri, yes, there's 2 of them I'll be picking up at midnight. One of them I may only buy half of though because half of it is a rerelease of an album that wasn't released here but in new Zealand only, but since I have a copy of that record, no need to buy songs I already have."

I've never bought songs digitally before. I either get them from Youtube or buy the CD at Walmart.
nods, "Well I'm pretty lazy and the ability to have it on my iphone in a few keystrokes is very appealing. I still prefer cds at times especially since I can rip it to a digital form that is a higher bitrate than iTunes from a cd. I'm picky about audio quality.

*Sigh*... I remember when there were lines outside Tower Records for the release of good albums. It's a shame the youth of today only have iPhone releases to reminisce on.

hey I bought a cd recently, the day it came out no less, best buy's edition had a bonus track I couldn't get welsewhere. But also keep in mind, some of the stuff I listen to is not American made music, so buying or obtaining it digitally is much much cheaper than paying for an import cd."

I didn't know that. I just buy them because I used to be able to play them in my car or in my computer. I can even make a copy to have one in either place. But if I copy it to my computer's music folder I can listen to it even without the disc in the drive.

I remember Tower Records. I used to get comedy albums from them when I was in high school.

Chuckling.... "Actually I was really impressed when Best Buy started stocking vinyl again. There's nothing wrong with digital distribution of music. I do wish they would make higher bit-rates more common, Like you I'm a stickler for quality. But at least the industry finally got on board with the new medium.

Oh God, I remember making monthly pilgrimages to Tower Records and stacking piles of records and CD's on the counter. We'd spend hours going through the stacks finding all sorts of new stuff. Everything from Guns n Roses to Maynard Ferguson, and yes, it's where I got my first Eddie Murphy album, and Don Imus too. (Back when Imus was funny)

For me and my best friend, it was George Carlin and Rodney Dangerfield. We would listen to them until we could quote all the jokes verbatim.

Sometimes my best friend would lip sync songs from REO Speedwagon or Loverboy or Journey to me. I guess he thought it was romantic or something. It always made me laugh because he'd get this really earnest look on his face as he 'sung' to me.

Laffin.... "Were there..... mix tapes? It's not serious until there's a mix tape." ;)

yes, I prefer mp3s at 320 which is the highest rip rate for an mp3, without using flac. I will take 256 or 289 also, but much below that and I object it loses low end, and don't even talk to me about 128, complete garbage for the most part.

And the sad fact is... so much is 128. It all should have a 320 option IMHO.
