I've been playing around with mixing photoshop with pencil drawings lately.
This was the second option for entry for the "Evil Art Challenge".

(But I liked my photography better so I went with that)

No disrespect intended for your challenge entry, but I like this one a lot better.

Really? Thanks.

Mind if I ask why or what about it you like? I have never been good with drawing people and although I've practiced lots I guess I still wasn't happy with it. Any feedback is appreciated. :)

If you saw my attempts at drawing you'd feel a lot better about your skills. ;)

I like it mainly because it took a lot of effort to produce. It's also more erotic, and (to me, anyway) depicts "evil" better than your entry.

I'll admit I'm a bit biased concerning art that was done with a camera versus other mediums that require (in my opinion) more effort. I have more appreciation for things that the artist took time to craft, as opposed to simply clicking a button. I don't want to imply that photography is easy and that any fool can do it, but I think it's a lot easier in comparison to sketching, painting, etc.

Someone will probably come along and prove me wrong, but that's just how I feel and I hope you aren't offended because I really didn't mean it that way.

Yes, this did make more time to create and quite a bit of effort to blend in the pencil and the digital together.

As for erotic....I believe erotic can be different things to different people. This and my entry are just two examples of evil and how the concept to me can be erotic. I actually have a third piece going. That I'm doing on photoshop completely from scratch. Digital paintings take forever when you have no time! I'll finish it one day here eventually(or so I hope).

What to me is great about art is the many mediums you can create in and the many ways a person can experience it. In comparing traditional drawings and paintings to digital drawings and painting(done from scratch) to photography(not just snap shots) I don't really know if I prefer one medium over the other. For me it is more of the art itself that draws me. Although, I'll tell ya that when it comes to creating art.....I usually favor digital paintings, and photography is a new passion.

Don't worry, you didn't offend me. I'm hard to offend. I like honest and helpful feedbacks. How else am I supposed to improve as an artist if I never got any?

Cool. I try to make sure my intent isn't misinterpreted. It's so easy to do in a text-only environment.

I also favor digital art, though I require a lot of help in the form of the graphic programs that I use. If you haven't already, you can see examples of my stuff here in The 3D Art Lover's Thread. I marvel though, at people who can create stunning images with only their talent.

Yup, I know what you mean. The artist here have so much talent....I love seeing them bring an image to life with nothing but paper and pencil or paint.

I'll go have a look. I saw the thread but hadn't had the time to sctually look around. I'm usually on and off in a matter of minutes. Today being the exception cause school is finally over!!! Woot!

I particularly enjoyed.

"flight" for the radbom patern.
"after-the-rain-small-versio" for the mood.

I like randomness every once and then.
Makes for interesting stuff.

Thanks for stopping by(don't know how I'd missed your post before  )

More Randomness......
This abstract piece is called Nightmare

LOVE THE MAIDEN
Very Bettie Page

Thanks. The maiden was inspired by some of the classic pin-ups that I've come across. This was a fun piece to do.

Something I've been working on for some time now.
Think it is finally decent to show.

Hey Moonlight Elf,

I really enjoy elements of fantasy, so your work has captured my eye. Especially this image. Being an 80's metal guy, it reminds me of the lines from Iron Maiden's "Revelations":

So we lay in a black embrace,
And the Seed is sown in a holy place
And I watched, and I waited for the Dawn.

Thanks!

Hiya Helmhood :)

I'm glad that my art spoke to you. Thank you for the compliment and for the quote. I think it goes well together with my drawing.

Thank You. :rose:

I love photography and have been trying to improve my art. Take better pictures, better angles, lighting, subjects....and my "wet" is a result of one such experimenting.

Great stuff!! Your love for what you do is shining through... Can't wait to see more.

I'd love to show you more. Unfortunately my cam is breaking down and nothing comes out right. I have to wait until I can afford another cam......being a poor student/intern sucks :(

My thread usually tends to slide down to a different page and I'm not around often to keep it current so no worries about missing this ;) :rose:

Thank you for the compliment. I'm delighted that you enjoyed my photography. The stream is one of my faves....sometimes I think I can even hear the water babbling..hehe
