moonlight elf said:I've been playing around with mixing photoshop with pencil drawings lately.
This was the second option for entry for the "Evil Art Challenge".
Typo Fu Master said:No disrespect intended for your challenge entry, but I like this one a lot better.
moonlight elf said:Really? Thanks.
Mind if I ask why or what about it you like? I have never been good with drawing people and although I've practiced lots I guess I still wasn't happy with it. Any feedback is appreciated.
Typo Fu Master said:If you saw my attempts at drawing you'd feel a lot better about your skills.
I like it mainly because it took a lot of effort to produce. It's also more erotic, and (to me, anyway) depicts "evil" better than your entry.
I'll admit I'm a bit biased concerning art that was done with a camera versus other mediums that require (in my opinion) more effort. I have more appreciation for things that the artist took time to craft, as opposed to simply clicking a button. I don't want to imply that photography is easy and that any fool can do it, but I think it's a lot easier in comparison to sketching, painting, etc.
Someone will probably come along and prove me wrong, but that's just how I feel and I hope you aren't offended because I really didn't mean it that way.
moonlight elf said:Yes, this did make more time to create and quite a bit of effort to blend in the pencil and the digital together.
As for erotic....I believe erotic can be different things to different people. This and my entry are just two examples of evil and how the concept to me can be erotic. I actually have a third piece going. That I'm doing on photoshop completely from scratch. Digital paintings take forever when you have no time! I'll finish it one day here eventually(or so I hope).
What to me is great about art is the many mediums you can create in and the many ways a person can experience it. In comparing traditional drawings and paintings to digital drawings and painting(done from scratch) to photography(not just snap shots) I don't really know if I prefer one medium over the other. For me it is more of the art itself that draws me. Although, I'll tell ya that when it comes to creating art.....I usually favor digital paintings, and photography is a new passion.
Don't worry, you didn't offend me. I'm hard to offend. I like honest and helpful feedbacks. How else am I supposed to improve as an artist if I never got any?
Typo Fu Master said:Cool. I try to make sure my intent isn't misinterpreted. It's so easy to do in a text-only environment.
I also favor digital art, though I require a lot of help in the form of the graphic programs that I use. If you haven't already, you can see examples of my stuff here in The 3D Art Lover's Thread. I marvel though, at people who can create stunning images with only their talent.

Helmhood said:Hey Moonlight Elf,
I really enjoy elements of fantasy, so your work has captured my eye. Especially this image. Being an 80's metal guy, it reminds me of the lines from Iron Maiden's "Revelations":
So we lay in a black embrace,
And the Seed is sown in a holy place
And I watched, and I waited for the Dawn.
Thanks!
moonlight elf said:One more tonight. The week I picked "wet" as the theme of contest III it had stormed and rained here. This was talken at around 10 pm on my way home from work.
My version of "WET" hehe.
