This is why I objected to the word "allow" as if one person was in a controlling situation. If a couple decides to bring in someone for a threesome or another couple, as a negotiated and discussed mutual desire, to fulfil a fantasy or expand horizons then there need be no jealousy involved at all.

Jealousy may likely occur when someone realises the dominating control they thought they had has been taken out of their hands. Unless control play has been negotiated it is a fairly shitty and foolishly arrogant approach which deserves to backfire.

I also don't get the implication that the potential for "new flash of passion" should be denied - as a couple I would hope that state is continuously and mutually strived for whether it be a monogamous relationship or one open to exploring with others. Control and allowing is just ugly.
