Greetings!
I'm a 30 year old male, currently employed in healthcare. Historically certain types of erotic fiction has had tremendous potential to draw my interest, but after so much difficulty with finding a story that captured my attention I finally decided to simply write my own.
I submitted my first story to literotica over a decade ago, and a year or two later I subsequently published an additional 3 more stories. Trying to re-read those stories today is beyond cringe-worthy for me; I usually can't get past a few sentences before I hate everything about my characters and their development before I give up altogether on the read.
Regardless, it still seems that a very small minority of individuals were able to appreciate them, and every blue moon I still might receive feedback about my stories all these years later. Today I'm on the verge of finishing my latest story, which I consider to be a significant step or two above the others in terms of literary quality.
So what makes a story brilliant? Why are some stories appealing to people and others aren't? Why can't I finish most stories on literotica to save my life? Not only am I here because I'm interested in discussing these issues, but I'll also want to discuss my latest story after it's published. After all, I'm wholeheartedly convinced that it's absolutely brilliant, and I'll be a bit curious as to why anyone here might want to disagree.

I'm a published erotica author under a pen name, but in my real life I'm an English comp and world literature professor and work in the ed tech industry as a consultant, graphics designer, and moonlight as an aerialist/aerial yoga instructor. I'm 30, happily married to a wonderful man, a mother of 3, and about to finish a doctorate. Needless to say I'm busy, overworked, over-stressed, and have always used erotica as an outlet.
