What brings me here? I love books, and writing.
Over the last few years several people have recommended this site. Decided to finally take a look around, and maybe post a few short stories. Curious to see what kind of feedback I get. I am hoping it will help me hone my writing style.
And of course I am looking forward to reading the works posted here. I scanned through the top stories, and added about a dozen authors to my favorites list. So many stories, so little time. lol
A few basic facts about me:
Single -54 years old - from the coastal area of Va, USA.

I have posted a rough draft of an opening scene. (Roughly 500 words at this time)
I would like to get some feedback on it. I am willing provide feedback to another Author in exchange.
Currently I have four ideas for what happens next.
1) Her dance partner turns out to be a Werewolf, hunts her down and claims his prize.
2) Her dance partner turns out to be a Dhampir, tracks her, then seduces her
3) Dance partner is human and the 'courtship' begins
4) Forget the dance partner, she is drawn into an erotic state by a Ghostly lover.
I might end up writing out each one. Though I am leaning towards the fourth option.
That way I could turn my little sensual scene into a novella with the Ghost, and one of the other three options as a love triangle.

I *love* the idea of the Dhampir. That's sexy in soooo many ways - but I don't want to detract from your inclination to write about the ghost.

I can write 10,000 words on any topic but me.
I hate using clichés and labels to define ourselves - we are all much more complex than the label applies.
But I honestly don't have a better system without writing a 10,000 word essay entitled "Me - the short version"
So here goes:
Male, 6'2", 250Lbs, Straight, Married (for a second time), Polyamorous, Dominate, Mensa, Educated (on the street and at university), Writer, Lapidary Artist, Gardner, Philosopher, Reluctant orchardist.
I have been;
A High School drop out, A College graduate, in the Boy Scouts, in Jail, (not both of those at the same time - oh, wait, yes I was), A Cook in a truck stop, A Nurse's Aide in a hospital, A truck (18 wheels) driver, A Camp Councilor, A Social Worker, An Investigator, I've MC'd a gospel choir concert, been to a satanic church, been a ditch digger, and a fence puller, bucked hay, rode horses, and hunted for my own food.
I enjoy;
Strong Coffee, Smooth Whisky, Smoother Scotch, Nicaraguan Cigars, Good Food, Cider (with a bite), Dark Beer, Intelligent Conversation, and almost any ethnic food style.
I've been to;
