Also, can somebody change the opening message on the Chyoo Home page? As it still states that chyoo is back last year. Perhaps you could stick your names in there and welcome to chyoo... something. Ya know.

Oh, one more thing... when I originally signed up for chyoo I had the option of signing up for the e-mail news letter. Any thoughts on it's future?

The new mods don't have control over the front page.

We also don't have any kind of newsletter function at our disposal, but I'm sure we could come up with content, if Manu can come up with a way to deliver it.

How does one resubmit?

I recently got a denied after 7 months I guess. I was actually spontaneously today adding threads, I think I got one before I added a thread. Something about spelling errors, and if I don't mind them just to resubmit? How does one resubmit? I checked around and couldn't exactly find this listed anywhere, and I'm guessing it would be either add a thread or delete the whole thing and and resubmit it adding all the chapters and the like. Not sure which it is, I've got 19 threads and such. Thanks to whoever decides to answer.

A moderator could turn it from Denied to Approval Pending.

OK, I've come up with a proposed process for "Resubmitting".

(1) Story gets Denied status from a moderator.
(2) Story sits in editor's Story List with Denied status.
(3) Editor makes changes to story specified by moderator.
(4) Editor uses "Report Thread" to explain they'd like to resubmit, the changes they've made, and requests moderator change status from Denied to Approval Pending.
(5) Moderator changes status of story.
(6) Story is now in queue for approval.

Voila!

Now we just need to explain this to users.

interesting concept. Now we need to start talking about the editor's that left their stories and have approval pending and what we should do with them. Should we try getting in touch with them, and if they dont respond in like a month, make a post of all the stories that need an editor and people could pick out if they want to be the new editor or something? Cuz its a shame to leave all those good stories to go to waste.

Yes, the backlog of stories has been cleared. If your story was denied, check the notes about why it was denied. Many stories were denied simply to confirm whether the editor was still around or AWOL. Some moderators didn't want a bunch of abandoned stories added to the mix. If you have stories in your story list that are denied, the reason should be displayed.

If the reason says something about resubmitting, doing so will confirm that you active. If your story was denied and has a good reason for being so, delete it, or address the problems and resubmit.

Oh, and the notice on the front page hasn't changed, so don't use that as a guide to whether updates have occurred.

Ahhhhh didn't have any waiting stories...but thats ok...just glad to hear that Chyoo is finally back in action

It would take a while to go back and copy/paste 19 threads. The only changes i made was adding more threads, and changing an idea around because it was a little too inane, even for me. Of course I still think it's denied for simply just being too wacky, and if it is, I don't mind it being banished to obscurity, so long as it's still accessable, for it gives me comic relief in normally dull days. And if you think it's worthy of being seen by searches and the main pages of THE Chyoo2 and decide to add it, I'm in no hurry.

German Stories

I have taken a plunge and am putting the wasted years of my youth, 3 years of high school German, to use. I am working ever so slowly through the German language stories and approving them. I hope I have not screwed anything up, but so far they all make sense to me.

I don't know if any of the German writers ever read the boards but if they do please let me know if I miss something important.

I will throw this out as an idea to lilguy and the other people who have trouble with spelling and grammar issues. I would be happy to preview any stories prior to submission and try and fix the obvious spelling and grammar problems. I am no English major myself, but I can usually fix most of the really screwed up stuff. Just an idea to create a better story, particularly in the first thread.

You could just PM or e-mail them to me.
