Not gonna write you a love song: Challenge

i cant write you a poem
since you've been gone
words come out sloppy
my brain it drags on
my paper gets wet
my eyes spring a leak
and I'm afraid to forget

the smell of your lotion
or the whisper in your words
the blue color in your eyes
it may sound so absurd
but i miss the way you yelled
and you kicked and you screamed
almost as much as i miss
the way your face looked when you dreamed

and while i don't miss your anger
i miss when you'd speak
and I'd trade the rest of my life
for just one more week
and while i dont miss your temper
i do miss your thoughts
and i wish you would think them
i miss them lots

but i cant write you a poem
for i am afraid
to renounce what we had
in this bed that we made
as you sleep in a bed
where you were laid
by a man who spoke of jesus
surrounded by graves

and i'd say that i missed you
if i could just write
but i can't tell you a poem
no not tonight
nor will i ever
i do not beleive
true love is forever
but true life can be grieved
