This is getting out of hand.
The point of the story was to indicate joy. I thought it was appropriate. We have done nothing nor experienced anything more than hundreds if not thousands of other parents. I'm certain that the vast majority of people on these boards would have made the same decisions, you are the unlucky ones.
Thankyou all for your thoughts and kind words but I refer you to
Mr Burns story with the admonishment to 'think on'.
