Oliphant in the paper today.

Indeed it did. A good deal on my interests draws to resolving the seeming contradictions in the words religions use vs the actions they take.

I love ritual, some forms of mysticism, and find much of the music uplifting despite the fact that "resigned" from the Holy Roman Catholic Church about 8 years ago be sending the local bishop the ashes of my baptism certificate and a letter taking for myself the ability to deal with the Divine directly, no longer needed an emissary.

You?

Wow. Martin Luther with pyromania. (Hard to nail those ashes to the church's front door)...

Yes, I'm big on ritual and mysticism, just not always the theology behind them. Maybe ritual and mysticism can be their own religion, and are enough sometimes.

I do believe in sex, and ritualized sex, and that's where I gravitate with regard to BDSM. I'm aroused by the parallels between ritualized D/s and ritualized Christianity.

Oh My!

Naked save the cardinal red cape, flog in hand, incense burning in the darkened cave-like room, castrati driven gregorian chant in the background, offering tied to the alter...

Oh My!

There's something about a supplicant kneeling in candlelight, mouth open in quest for redemption, that turns my crank. I just wish I could figure out what it is.
