like I said I personally find it unrealistic, but thats just me...so everybody calm down.


Ok and the girl in my story isn't talking to herself. Before shes reaches an orgasm, she is thinking to herself but not talking out loud. When she finally does cum, she obivously moans out, and in between the moans she calls out the name of the person she is thinking about. So she really isn't talking to herself...

So do you people think thats unrealistic?

We all, women, men, think to ourselves during masturbation. No I don’t, even in my mind, have a conversation with myself, or some story having two characters. At times some verbalization, but maybe my lover is sleeping next to me, if that is the case at best the sounds would be muffled. I don’t think I’ve ever cried out a name while masturbating, although I may have said, oh god, a few times.

I might add that I too find BigTexan’s dialogue realistic, in my case you’d have to add in a few, my gods, something I seem to say frequently. I’m not sure that if he'd been with me, he’d say "the most beautiful woman in the world", I’ve been told when I’m close to having an orgasm, I look like I’m in pain.

Had to laugh when I read this... the comment that only porn stars say "fuck me" and then saying that the girl would have finished... to borrow a phrase... only porno stars finish that quickly.... no, I don't mean that literally, but I know that I usually take a little longer than that... And it's men that roll over and go to sleep.. after sex I am usually very energized.

Regarding masturbation dialogue, I agree with BT's idea that her "dialogue" should be relevant to her fantasy. I also agree with those that say it should be true to your character.. but I would say that it should help develope your character, also.

Perhaps she is always quiet during sex with her partner because of being afraid her vocalization would not be welcome and she talks when she masturbates because she is free?

Finally, I will say that when I am alone, I am "loud" when I masturbate. I am also "loud" with my husband. My words tend to the "So good" and "Yes". Everything else is indistinguishable.

You've run into a very writerly problem. TYour masaturbating girl is probably going to be doing a lot of non-verbal vocalizing; in other words, moaning, groaning, whining, gasping, sighing, shuddering, whimpering, squealing and the like. It would be great if we could describe the noises people make when they make love, because most of the vocalizations are these kind of non-verbal things, and they're very sexy.

The problem is, we can't describe the actual noises people make without going through a lot of trouble, so most writers settle for a few vocalization sounds: moans, shuddering sighs, urgent mutterings, sobs and so on, everyone had their favorites.

Likewise the things we have people say may not be what you yourself or I would say. They should be believable, but they're basically what the writer would like them to say.

We all talk about realism here, but the fact is most of what we write is not real at all. It's idealized sex, it's sex as we wish it were. So you just have her say what seems most appropriate to her and that excites you the most.

I would stay away from "Lord Shit Howdy!" though

I don’t see a problem with that Phoenix646. I’m sure that at sometime, somewhere a woman has cried out the name of her lover, lover’s best friend, alpha male living down the street, or some hunk she works with.

I am curious as to why you asked, if no matter what we said you had no intention of listening to our input?

Getting off the subject, kind of, during my life travels I’ve found a good number of men who love you to talk dirty during intercourse, do you men talk dirty when you masturbate?

I don't think men normally say anything during masturbation, or even make much noise, although it depends on what the circumstances are.
Most times--in my experience, at least--you're masturbating just to let some tension off, and it's really not much sexier than taking a leak.
Sometimes the thought of a woman or a picture will get you so hot that you'll have to masturbate to that image, and then I might start talking just to help the fantasy.
But masturbation is a poor substitute for sex. While the orgasm is a relief, the actual event can't begin to compare to the feel of another person's touch, so the moments of overwhelming pleasure that make you cry out or growl or whatever during real sex just aren't there.
