Although I have done it in the past, I'm not keen on it, for a number of reasons:

I have never had problem with having sex during period... Actually I find myself more tender and quicker to respond.
But I'm blessed with short and painless periods, almost without any side effects.

Well, I can't think of a delicate way to put this.........

Being a straight male, I think that I am reasonably aware of my asshole. I have had an endoscopy twice. And, a few times I have heard the snap of the latex glove as my doctor approached me from behind.

Each time it was horrible. Not disgusting, but just a nasty experience that I never want to repeat.

So, here is my point. Lots of posts refer to anal sex as being an acceptable alternative to vaginal sex. I feel bad for the fairer sex if their vaginas feel no better than their assholes.

Can anyone put me straight please?

Simply put: They're not afraid of their asses as much as your common male is.

With them, it's a comfort and pleasure balance. With most men, it's a masculine identification and representation issue.
If you've taken the moment to look at any anatomy book involving the nervous sytem (med field here) you'd see that the same nerve that ends at the clit but starts from the spine splits amd reforms not once but twice. Once to go around the anus, the other around the vaginal opening.

Men....we only have one split. But in this society, to allow yourself to be penetrated is psychologically unappealing.
Must mean you're either gay or less of a man in some fashion.
