If you are uploading an image via the attachment paperclip method, then copying that image URL to use with the Insert Image icon - as far as I am aware you can not remove the attachment link.

Actually, when you do remove the attachment link, it is deleted from your attachment area also. So then the image disappears.

It seems you are still doubling up on the image tags
When I quote your last post I see your image code as
Two ways of adding an image hosted on another website
1. use the insert image icon
or
2. you just type directly in the message area (not using Insert Image icon)
one or the other - don't combine them

If they are images you have uploaded then probably because of this
If the page has been cached the image may stay for a couple of days, but will disappear if you delete attachment link.
If you are hotlinking an image hosted elsewhere then it is entirely an issue beyond Literotica. Some servers recognise when an image is hotlinked and automatically prevent it being displayed on another website.

I was only talking about the attachment link that appears at the bottom of the post. If you use the Remove Attachment available in the post itself it is also deleted from your list of attachments.
As for hotlinking, some site just don't allow it and the image will never appear in that case. In others the image the site has may routinely be deleted by the site or at some site it might be moved to an archive section therefor the path has changed.

You will have to use a program for that. That are many free ones that will let you resize images.

1. Does the hosting site matter - I’ve tried Imgbb but when I paste ( or type ) in the link all I get is a little empty square. Is it because my image site does not allow hosting =. https://ibb.co/4J4JTqL Or is something missing in my code?
I have pasted it in, typed it in, but still when I view the post - it only has a small empty square.

some sites are automatically banned from having content shared with Lit - it appears ibb is one of those.

Go to the link you posted and right click on the image. Then click on Copy Image Address. Now paste that image in the dialog box that appears when you click on the mountain and sun icon.
Now if you get this garbage it means that some process on Lit has blocked it.

No. You can't post MP4s or MP3s. You can post a link to either. Just type in the URL.
But remember there are some sights that might be rejected without telling you why as Lit has found that they try to install spyware, malware, viruses, on your machine the theirs.
