in 1999 I was ugh...*counts* in grade 7? That means I still thought DragonBallZ was cool, I had a year old dog, and I had probably just convinced my parents that I didn't need a babysitter anymore, because I had just suffered through a couple of years of being forced to be the friend of the baby sitter's spoiled bastard of a son. I was close friends with a pair of twins who were two years younger than me, and because of this wasn't very popular with the kids my age. I still hadn't developed my outgoing and crazy personality, and just sat quietly in class. I had a crush of epic proportions on the brainy glasses wearing girl that I would confess to her two years later only to be let down because I was tragically uncool and it would be another three years after that until I'd take a drama class and realize that running around, goofing off, and being vocal was actually pretty fun. I was still playing Pokemon, but not as much as I had used to as I had a lvl 100 team featuring Charizard, Mewtwo, Mew, Zapdos, Gengar, and then an empty spot for whatever pokemon was holding exp share for when I fought the elite four for the 20 millionth time. It would be the following year that I would be moved from the school that I had spent the past 5 years in to move to what had been the kiddy school when I had last gone to it, and wouldn't actually be done with construction until 2 years after I graduated to highschool, yet would still have six portables, because I assume that the idea of just making a huge school with the extra space that a growing community would need to fill was just a wild and crazy idea. I was still taking a bus to school because the school I was in was too far away to walk (which was the reason they fixed up the other school I assume). I had no idea that when I graduated from elementary school I'd never talk to any of my elementary school friends again.
All of that said, 1999 was a cool year, 2000 was bullshit.
