Proud Parents Pad

My little one is home today with a 101 fever. She still wanted to go to school. Just want to sweep her up into my arms and hold her.

I can't believe me of all people is gonna post here but...

...I recently started dating this guy who quickly became both my boyfriend and dominant (I'm poly so that's just one of a few but...damn, he's so amazing!)

In any case, back on topic! He has a five year old daughter I got to meet a few weeks ago, him and his ex share custody so we get to have her every second weekend, we're going to pick her up from swimming this morning!

She's totally adorable, smart beyond her age and not shy in the least!

Best part of our last weekend with her was when we got to his mate's house, his friend has two little girls for Bella (that's her nickname!) to play with so we decided to have a few drinks while the girls played.

We got there and I opened the back door of my car for Bella, she asked if I could pick her up and take her to the stairs. So I'm holding her shoes, my bag, one of her toys and I pick her up in one arm. I had to toss the car keys to James (my dom/boyfriend) to lock the car up, he was getting the beer out of the boot.

Anyways, his mate Bill and Bill's daughters Nakita and Anastasia were on the balcony waving to us and saying hello. So I went and dropped Bella on the steps...she didn't wanna let go of me!

When I finally got her to let go and set her down, I went back to help James. Bella started to go, "Wait! Wait!" And she's pointing at my hand, I forgot I was holding the toy I gave her earlier in the day lol!

"Of course! Can't forget Tweety!" I grinned and gave her the toy and she gave me a big hug and a kiss!

Was so awesome!

My lil girl is 1 next saturday.
The year went by so fast...

She and her big bro (he's 3) are usually at extremes of either end of the spectrum-
Love each other dearly and playing well...
...or out to destroy each other's stuff just because.

Though I will say Big Bro is good at being big bro when it comes to Sis and people he's unfamiliar with. SUPER protective. Was yelling at one of my aunts he rarely sees when she picked up & walked away with Baby Girl. "Gimme back mah sistah! Dont know you, dont know you!"

Does anyone else find themselves stifling laughs on pronounciations of words with Toddler Accents? Lil Guy sounds like he's from Boston. And tipsy.
I have to quickly explsin what he's said around others if he says "stick", "sonic", or "percy".

My daughter is seven and my last older one at home just turned 21 and quite often he becomes a 7yo boy in her presence, lol. It can be quite aggravating at times with the "stop touching me" and " mommy loves me better". But he is so cute with her at other times it melts my heart. He is trying to convince her to become a nun when she gets older and tells her that her body is a garden for Jesus, lol. We are not even Catholic. She found out some girls were calling him a pet name and she went ballistic and jumped all over his 6'2 frame, boy was she HOT, like a wet hen, lol.

I hope she is feeling better. Lots of illnesses this winter in our area-flu, strep throat, ear infections, mono...:rose:

My eldest boy is playing one of the leads in his school play on Tuesday! :-D This is his first school production ever, and we're very excited!

Wow! That's awesome!! :D

And Baby Brit made the trip home to the UK brilliantly, two flights, an over-night stay in London and then a 2 train journey afterwards...so proud!

True, she did then start throwing up as soon as we walked through my mother-in-law's front door last night and scared the life out of me and Mr Brit! But she seems to be over the worst now and is dozing happily, recharging ready for more play with doting grandparents and uncles!!

Baby Brit got the 'all clear' from her cardiologist this week :D
No immediate need for further surgery and next appointment isn't for another 6 months, she's come on in leaps and bounds since January's Op and am so so so proud of her!

Also, we've had first attempts at words (other than Mummy and Daddy) and walking too :D

Missy is teething again. 8 at once. Poooor baby.... Piiiiiiissed baby.
Both she and bro caught that nasty bug that's been going around; sick as hell for about 24 hrs. Bro nearly ended up in the ER thanks to unresponsive doctor.
Finally feeling better.

I'm rather upset with my mother though for last thursday. Bro went to stay the night at her place and they stopped at the store after leaving my apartment. About 30 min after they left she calls me.

"I lost him."

For about 15 minutes my boy was missing. He bolted when she turned away from him. They called Code Adam... when they found him, he said he was looking for one of my friends who works there- he lets him play with toys.

I was and am still mad.
He's only 3. Assuming he's going to stay standing behind that cart while you look thru things is not a good idea. He gets bored very quickly. And her idea of "a few seconds" is more like 5 minutes. Besides, I see leaving him unsupervised like that to be the same as a baby in a bath- "just a few seconds" is all it fucking takes for something terrible to happen.

I'm just... Uuurgh.
Needed to vent that.

I've got a teething 8 month old- I feel your pain.

As for your boy running off, I have amother in law who thinks the same way. The things that have happened to my oldest when my husband and I are gone take up a list so long I stopped trying to keep track of it.

At least he is getting old enough now to know better, and big enough to fight back if someone comes after him- and taking karate.

It's Mother's Day in the UK so here for all our British mums, no, make that all our mums here at Lit is a little poem.
It's not mine but I love the sentiment... :rose:

She was there at the beginning
When the world was new to you.
She was there to turn to happy times
Those when, you were hurt or blue.

She was there at the beginning
And she'll be there your whole life through -
She'll be there in your mind and heart
Just like a mother is supposed to do.

So, those who still have theirs
Should remember those times passed
And thank her now for all those things
She's done for you in the past.

For those whose Mum is gone
It's a time to reflect and say,
"Mum, I love and miss you,
On this, and every other day.

Our mothers shape our being
And have an endless wealth to give
And she will be a part of us
For as long as we may live.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
