Mark us down for both too. In our 30's and 40's, we had a lot of sex outdoors in semi-public places. We only got caught once (that we know of! LOL). The fisherman who watched us on a remote beach didn't mind at all.

I would say home. With the privacy, you can get as crazy as you want. You can take your time. You can really relax and enjoy things.

In public, usually the space isn't "sex friendly", you (I) are paranoid about someone seeing or driving up, and I find it harder to perform when you are cramped, rushed and worried. Thats me though.

If it were the only place you could with someone, because it couldn't be at home (ie, affair, etc.) I imagine that could make it even hotter.
