Question about "the closet"of sexually deviant behavior...

I really have never 'fit in' to any of the common molds that society tries to shove people into. My ways are rarely accepted anywhere.

"The most thoroughly and relentlessly Damned, banned, excluded, condemned, forbidden, ostracized, ignored, suppressed, repressed, robbed, brutalized and defamed of all Damned things is the individual human being. The social engineers, statisticians, psychologists, sociologists, market researchers, landlords, bureaucrats, captains of industry, bankers, governors, commissars, kings and presidents are perpetually forcing this Damned Thing into carefully prepared blueprints and perpetually irritated that the Damned Thing will not fit into the slot assigned to it. The theologians call it a sinner and tries to reform it. The governor calls it a criminal and tries to punish it. The psychotherapist calls it neurotic and tries to cure it. Still, the Damned Thing will not fit into their slots."
-Hagbard Celine

Most people don't really fit in but most people also try to pretend that they do because we think its somehow bad to be different, its not, with out difference we stagnate.

The gnostics teach that in order for any intelligent creature to grow it needs "otherness" by which to learn and contrast itself, if we were meant to be the same we would reproduce asexually and simply clone ourselves over and over.

Love it! Amen! ( Had to use the religious reference for comedic effect :) )

Interesting how religion tends to segregate the compartmentalize, doesn't it? Oh wait... that's for a HOLY other thread... ( sorry :( )

I have not explored bdsm until I got divorced. It wasn't something I kept inside. Someone introduced me to it and I was interested.

My boyfriend knows I like D/s dynamic but I don't think it's appropriate to discuss it openly with friends and family, it's private and intimate.

There is NOTHING in life more comical than the look on your friend's and family's faces as you stand up and say "I do XYZ with my body for sexual gratification."

Where XYZ can be...
1. Put a bag on my head
2. Tie a rope around my neck
3. Want (not just allow) men/women to be violent with me
4. Lock myself in a box for 5 hours
5. Etc...

But the comedy only lasts as long as the camera shutter used to take the photo we're all seeing in our heads. :)

Who introduced you to BDSM and how did you know you liked it? Was it an existing feeling you had but weren't able to identify it, or were you simply unaware of it, or unable to identify it?
