There is an element of BDSM in a vampire story. Not whipping, or physical bondage type stuff, but there is a strong mental bondage aspect when the vampire finds someone he wants.

Just like the old Count Dracula movies...the victim would actually loosen her buttons, revealing her neck and shoulders to his fangs...totally in his power, and helpless to defend against him. That's some interesting mental bondage.
