In the world of The Upper Floor, Masters, Mistresses, Servants and slaves interact in a strict fetish hierarchy in which no two individuals are ever equal.
The Upper Floor is proof that the kinds of "Secret Society" described in BDSM and D/s erotic literature can and does exist in reality -- but no longer needs to be secret.
The house will run like any other and will progress through normal years as we do, so when it is our easter in the real world, it is easter in the house or when it is Christmas and so on, we will even partake in birthday celebrations of each member of the house.
The house will also host parties, picnic and events and there for be open to approved guest roles. (these will be discussed in the out of character thread that will be established). I am not sure how many members to start with but one of each roll to begin with it can grow from their as people show interest.
The Upper Floor Hierarchy:
Master - Male Alpha Dom - it is their house and all under their roof they own and control.
Mistress - Female Beta Dom - second only to the Master is willing to obey his command but not submissive and is free to offer her input into the running of the house and shares control of all who live there.
Trainers - Male or Female Dom's / Switches contracted by the Master and Mistress to train the servants in their duties within the house. Third on the chain of command may or may not be required to submit to master or mistress depending on their style (Dom or switch) and desires within their contract. Has free control of the Servants unless specified by Master or Mistress (example: she/he is mine do not touch).
Upper Servants - an experienced submissive, believed capable to serve without a lot of training required. Used to demonstrate to Under Servants what is required of servants in the house, expected to set an example. Possibly ready to be tested to become a trainer if that is what their ultimate goal is and the desire for them as set by the Master and Mistress. Upper Servants may be a switch in training but does not show dominance to anyone but the under servants.
Under Servants - Submissive /switches who are submissive to all in the house, requires training, may work their way up the ladder to trainer depending on the wishes of the Master and Mistress and only they may show dominance to those lower. Servants always address hirer ups accordingly Master Smith Sir, or Mistress Smith Mame, Trainer Smith Sir/Mame. Servants are always know by a single name like smith.
While methods may vary, the teaching is drawn from a common set of underlying Principles of Servitude. These principles are known as Identity, Duty, Discipline and Humility.
Identity Relates to the sense of oneself, "who we are" as individuals - one's skills, abilities and awareness of self. This principle speaks to the degree to which the trainee embraces submission the depth of their immersion in the lifestyle surrounding the Craft.

Trainers - Male or Female Dom's / Switches contracted by the Master and Mistress to train the servants in their duties within the house. Third on the chain of command may or may not be required to submit to master or mistress depending on their style (Dom or switch) and desires within their contract. Has free control of the Servants unless specified by Master or Mistress (example: she/he is mine do not touch).
Upper Servants - an experienced submissive, believed capable to serve without a lot of training required. Used to demonstrate to Under Servants what is required of servants in the house, expected to set an example. Possibly ready to be tested to become a trainer if that is what their ultimate goal is and the desire for them as set by the Master and Mistress. Upper Servants may be a switch in training but does not show dominance to anyone but the under servants.
Under Servants - Submissive /switches who are submissive to all in the house, requires training, may work their way up the ladder to trainer depending on the wishes of the Master and Mistress and only they may show dominance to those lower. But as an Under Submissive they are the bottom link on the chain of command and very well may be answerable to all in the house while they under go training and be of service to the Master and Mistress above all else.
Slave/servant training:
Servants always address hirer ups accordingly Master Smith Sir, or Mistress Smith Mame, Trainer Smith Sir/Mame. Servants are always know by a single name like smith.
While methods may vary, the teaching is drawn from a common set of underlying Principles of Servitude. These principles are known as Identity, Duty, Discipline and Humility.
Identity Relates to the sense of oneself, "who we are" as individuals - one's skills, abilities and awareness of self. This principle speaks to the degree to which the trainee embraces submission the depth of their immersion in the lifestyle surrounding the Craft.
Duty Indicates one's sense of commitment and loyalty to The Traditions of the culture.
Discipline Reflects skills in organization, consistency and the acquisition of learned behaviors. Physical performance and ability to process sensation are indicators of one's discipline.
Humility The fundamental attitude reflecting mindfulness of one's place in the world.

These basic House Rules establish the baseline expectations of behavior for House service.
1) The well trained slave waits civilly to be interrogated.
- The slave never allows it's voice to be heard unless called to, and then as little as possible with short, concise responses.
- Never does the slave utter a harsh word or curse.
- The slave never offers an opinion, never says hello, good night nor offers any other salutation except in reply.
- When in a senior's presence, the slave does not speak to others of similar station.
- The slave is unseen unless acknowledged.
2) The well trained slave never turns it's back on a dominant.
- The slave always backs away before turning, unless ordered to give access to it's ass.
3) The well trained slave maintains a straight and dignified line of sight.
- Nosey glances are forbidden.
4) The well trained slave makes itself sexually available whenever possible.
- Through posture and open body language, the slave's body is alway on offer.
5) The well trained slave waits quietly for permission to approach and depart a dominant.
- When approaching a dominant, the slave stops several feet away and waits quietly for a nod, word or some indication of permission to approach. The slave also waits to be dismissed.
- If there is no notice, the slave lightly clears it's throat and asks, "Sir, permission to approach, sir?", followed by, "Sir, thank you sir!" when granted.
- If dismissal is not forthcoming, the slave lightly asks, "Sir, is there anything else this slave can do for you, sir?"
6) The well trained slave keeps it's dirty hands to itself.
- The slave always has a small tray nearby to receive items.
- The slave never touches items that it has no business handling.
- The tray is always held in the left hand with the right arm folded neatly behind the back.
