I understand, you are shy like me and maybe like me you don't want to have to clean the house for company! *smiles*
As far as local groups go, they are like people and therefore not perfect. I kind of like that they are somewhat flawed because so am I. I don't have anything I need to prove to them nor they to me so that helps me some with the shyness. Just like any other group. I try to be nice and keep my eyes open. Oh and hope they find me HOT. LMAO.
I find my local group to be useful when I can get there, in teaching me or exposing me to things in RL that I want to know about or gain more experience in.
I have also found Lit to be useful in these things but of course there is a big difference between online talk, and real life doing or seeing.
I do hope to get to an event in 2007 that has lots of demos and workshops. *crosses fingers*

By the way, when you do find the Dom of your dreams I would avoid any heavy play in the kiddy pool. A little light bondage is no big deal but parents tend to get upset when the whips come out.
