Mine went through too.

I tweaked the dialogue to have one of the other characters mention that she wasn't what she seemed and was older than them. I also added a note to read to read the story carefully

I'm little happy to read that I'm not the only rejection! A new writer who has four of five rejected. I have read the rules and rewrite. Hopefully better luck next time.

I recently had a story rejected for reasons which were mainly to do with some punctuation errors but I was also advised that work was needed on the dialogue. Although I couldn't really find anything wrong with the dialogue, there were a few punctuation errors and I've endeavoured to correct them to the best of my ability. However I've also taken the precaution of submitting it to one of the volunteer editors here for comment and am awaiting his/her advice before re-submitting it.

It can be difficult to spot those errors in your own work. Using one of the VE's is a good idea.
