Religious symbols and erotica

As a former Episcopalian turned Pagan, I can say I have felt but don't understand the guilt a Christian upbringing can bring. I have banished it from my life to the utmost degree possible. Sex is a gift of the Gods. It makes me very sad to remember before, when as a teenager, I was ashamed of having sex with my bf. It took me a lot of years to get to the point that I didn't feel that guilt anymore. Now I revel in the worship that sex is in reality.

I can certainly understand the appeal this image has though! Very hot pics.

got to agree with this

You know, on the one hand, these photos seem sacrilegious. On the other hand, wearing a cross or other religious symbol may be a way of feeling safe; that your higher power is protecting you from harm or hurt in what is being done. Because sometimes one can get into situations that are dangerous or unsafe. And maybe keeping you from hurting someone else (like a loved one). Just my 2 cents.

I think its great to see religious items in pics. I occasionally wear a cross, but not to bed usually (I don't usually wear any jewelry to bed other than my wedding ring). But we have crosses, etc all over our home, so you can almost always see one. As was mentioned, sex is a gift from God.

On the subject of religious symbols and erotica, it is a fetish under the designation of hierophilia. It refers to sexual urges, preferences or fantasies involving sacred or religious objects. Far from me from pouring rain unto someone's parade, but in my humble estimate, the pictures posted (the very few I scoured through) hardly can be considered hierophilia, in its purest sense. Just because someone wears a necklace with a cross dangling from it, it fails to achieve that particular state where it is indeed hierophilia, but then again, that is only my personal opinion. Hierophilia usually borders on what some may consider blasphemous or sacrilegious, with provocative and evocative imagery and with an added tension/charge. Frequently, its protagonists are themselves individuals who are deeply connected with the religious, such as priests, nuns and the like, if you're Christian/Catholic, that is.

A good example, from the top of my head, of hierophilia in our pop culture is Madonna's "Like a Prayer".

I've been running across pictures that I'm finding to be quite arousing: Women wearing cross necklaces and posing nude. It probably has something to do with my background (see my profile), but I can hardly keep my hands off my cock when I see something like this:

This would be hilarious if she was standing on the other side of the television especially with the look on their faces.

Interesting point.

True.

Also wonder if a girl wearing such crucifixes signals the man she's giving herself to that's she's a good Christian girl... but not one so hung-up on sex that she won't let him penetrate her, like he wants.

Some guys have told me they get even more horny seeing the gal they fuck wear cross necklaces.
The image of the necklaces jiggling between their boobs as they ride their men hard is quite a visualization.

On the other hand, it may just be that these necklaces are just pieces of jewelry with no religious significance to the wearer. Maybe the pieces were gifts from a relatives or friends. I think in our increasing secularized society, more and more people are less informed and less interested in religion.
