many thanks

I have many demanding readers too, but I'm going to keep on writing stories no matter what they say.

Well, I have a demanding job writing, and I have no need to say more, but when people thank me, I respond. . . you learn to accept your responsibility for affecting peoples lives, orgasm or not, and you still write. It takes two seconds to write:

"Thank you for your support.

Charley"

It was no offence, I merely disagree with your term, 'waste of time'. I feel it is beneath you as a writer with so many followers to say that it is a waste. No good or ill, is a waste of time. Perhaps you will one day understand this.

As I re-read the question, and must correct self, I reply in PC to anon if worthy. . . in PM, I cannot. :)

What I mean by waste of time is this: I know that if I asked my readers what they would prefer, that I spend my time working on my writing, or answering every last one of my e-mails, they would tell me they prefer that I write. If I was not appreciative of them, I wouldn't bust my ass writing for them. Obviously. They don't need a 'thank you' from me each time they write me to know that.

I think it's just rude not to respond to someone who has expressed interest in a story. What effort does it take to hit "reply" and type something to the effect of :

Hey, thanks very much for your kind words. I enjoyed writing the story and am happy you liked it.

thanks again,
NYCSTUD

To each his own I guess. I just think it's rude.

What can I say? I guess my readers are more understanding than you guys. They know what it's like to be busy.

I'm not all that busy so I always answer feedback, either PC or email if the sender leaves a name. First, I think it's just being polite to answer mail, since the PC's are usually directed to me, rather than just being a comment for general consumption and, second, because I promise to do so in a paragraph I add to the end of every story. That comment gets far more responses than I used to get in 2003 before I started adding it. The older stories have gotten more views, which stands to reason because they have been around longer, but the newer ones have far more votes and feedback.

If I haven't said so before, Jolie, wilcome to Lit.:rose: :rose: :rose:

This is my first time on this forum however I am an avid reader of Brightlyiburn's work she is amazing. I have even taken the time to give comments or send messages but I don't expect replies from someone so popular. Just think of the emails just one story generates and multiply that by the number of stories. That is a lot of email and personally I would rather she take the praise from the email I and others send and use it as encouragement to continue writing stories not emails.

I guess that you could say that I am one of those understanding readers you were talking about Brightly
