Safety, Blood, and Risk of The Unknown

According to my doctor, 80% of women have HPV. Most of the time, your body fights it off by itself (it is a virus, after all). Early detection of it is important because if things start going bad, they can just remove the abnormal cells (caused by HPV) before it develops into something serious. The vaccine they are trialing sounds really good :)

I actually have HPV. The guy I got it from passed his 6 month screening before we were together. The strain I have does not effect men. It cannot be prevented with condoms because people have juices that are flowing down balls and over labia. There is no cure, no prevention and no accurate test and as said it is estimated 70-80% of women have it. (Making how many men carriers?) The only way to really discover it is through an abnormal pap smear and to have the pre-cancerous cells removed as quickly as possible. After that constant watching.

I am cautious about a vaccine for something that doesn't have an accurate test. How can they tell if it is working?

I don't do blood play, GS, BS, temp piercing, etc. Actual sex is as dangerous as it gets. j is my one and only partner now and this concern is one of the reasons we shy away from group play. I am post-treatment for a neurological infection and it has left my immune system compromised. j sleeps on the couch with so much as a cold!
