“So Good news first then?” He asked sarcastically. “Well there’s about 300 inside. Everything I saw was basic warriors, mercs, soldiers, and highwaymen. Didn’t see any caster or Paladin types. A couple walking around in armour but it all looks like shit. Place is big inside.”
“Place is filthy and old. Some is crumbling, but still solid. No maintenance or janitorial staff. Has a kitchen and staff. But the food smells bad and everyone in the kitchen looks half or all the way dead. Smell like it to.”
“Didn’t see the leader but from what I’ve heard his name is Pelnur Gatesfist, and this place is called Traitor’s Hold, the townish place is Shanty Town.”
“We got lucky in the swamp. They avoid it cause of the shit in there. Few that go in come back out. The send undesirables into there, or to someone one called Kas the Betrayer.”
“I did see a map, but none of the names are pleasant at all. This place is fucked up. Warden Cliffs, Blackfish Lake, Tangledeep Swamp. Hall of the Betrayer.”
“Now the bad news. The place has been here about 300 or 400 years. The stories differ, and a lot of gambling takes place. No one escapes, no one ever really dies. As for anyone sent to Kas, they don’t come back. Ever. Every month a… offering is sent to Kas. Usually someone that fucked up, or gets captured.”
“Didn’t find out if there is a Dark Lord or wher in the realms this place is though.”
“Oh, I think they’re cannibals as well. At least what I saw of the.. meat.. might have been humanoid. But I did see the carcass of a big ass motherfucking Gator.”
“And I saw some really fucked up Elves, they had like thorns or spikes growing out of their skin and faces. Creepy looking with red or black eyes, pale, little shorter than most elves, and speaking a weird variant of elvish I couldn’t place or recognize. I only understood a couple words. Probably from a Hell Plane or alternate Prime Material Plane.”
