Something to ponder.... Disparities between dominant women and men on-line.

I've done it now. I've spilled the secrets of the illuminati to the heathen outside infidel.

Bwhahaha, now all the infidels shall know!

"Rise up and face your Femdom overlords" will be cried out in the streets...

Followed shortly by "OWWW! OWW!! Sorry! Sorry! Please no ahhhhhhh!!!"

Although I could believe Netzach as a member of the Illuminati ("KLF, uhuh, uhuh" -- has anyone besides me read the books?), I want to suggest an alternative.

Let's look at some statistical trends. Even better, let's look at some statistical trends without any statistics to back them up. (After all, 97% of all statistics are made up on the spot!)

What's the ratio of men on-line to women on-line? I know when I was at University, there was a distinct disparity of men versus women who had any kind of involvement with computers or the Internet.

I suspect that is changing, but more with younger people than older people. So that leads me to my next question: what's the ratio of older people (over 30 say) in BDSM to younger people?

I'm sure you get my drift. It may not be a matter of anything other than just who is on-line and who isn't. No world conspiracy plans required.

Occams razor, after all.

Hey, no knife play!

Well, and IMHO , lit isn't really representative of any of those real of made up statistics.

The BDSM forum isn't a "stand alone" project. That is to say that people do not generally come to lit after doing a search of on line BDSM communities. They come because they had an interest in erotic stories or because someone told them what a great place the BDSM forum is.

Which, generally, it is! ;)

In some respects, I like being part of a community that is linked to a theme. Many of us are writers, good or bad, and as such seem to have a perhaps a higher level of intellect and understanding than the mainstream on line BDSM info seekers?

Also, this may account for the fact that most of us are in that "older" crowd.

Other sites that are specifically stand alone projects draw a wider array of posters, but I have to say, while topics are similar the depth of knowledge, insight, experience and quality discourse cannot be matched.

So, while we are not a forum that excludes anyone, in general, the people we draw are my kind of people!

Wow.....off on tangents !

Give me coffee!
