Sounding....Anyone here do it?

And - since there are few resources for women, did you just "play by ear", or was someone able to give you a few pointers? Like, how did you know when to stop - can you feel it? And, how far in total would you say it went into you?

I've looked online, and found articles on catheter insertions, but not sounds - not for women.

But I mentioned it (out of the blue, on the way to work last week) to my S.O./Dom, that it's something I'd like to try - and he's not totally freaked out by the idea.. He's leery of UTIs, and he wants to get lots of information from a doctor or nurse before we try it - which could be a deterrent, unless we can find someone in the community with the knowledge.

Broaching this topic with my G.P. is not exactly at the top of my can't-wait-to-do list for 2007... But damn it, I will if it comes to that! The poor guy.

The filet crochet hook I used (NOT the hook end!) was about 2mm in diameter. I have seen pictures of women using much larger implements but I figured that was a good place to start. It probably only went in a couple of inches total, which is about right according to the length of a woman's urethra. I don't know how I knew how far to go...it was just instinctive, that this was where I would stop. I think it would have hurt internally if I'd gone further...maybe not caused damage, but hurt. I did it totally by myself.

As for talking to a doctor, you can probably find somebody through the Kink Aware Professionals list who's willing to help you out. Even if there isn't anybody local to you, many of them have e-mail addresses posted. Check the "medical doctor" page of course.

And I really recommend BMEzine.com if you want to see pictures of female sounding. You would need the "hard" level membership. There's also video at BMEvideo.com if you are interested in that.

I'd love to try it again, but I think my urethra is just super-delicate or something. I get bladder infections at the drop of a hat, and they hurt like a BITCH, so I will probably not try sounding again...anytime soon, at least. It WAS a really interesting feeling, though, so I'll never say never. I'm jealous of guys with their big, long urethras!

I've done some sounding in the past. I've always had a, "Oo i wonder what i can stick int hat hole" syndrom. I too went for the non hook end of the crochet hook, not only are a large portion of them metal and rounded, but they also have measurements and so you can know exactly how wide you're going. I've gone well over 1.5 inches in so i guess i've entered the bladder, or i'm a freak of nature. I try to keep my impliments very very clean prior to use, and as soon as i'm finished i go to the bathroom to help push out anything that i might not have stopped from heading up. I've had some of my most intense orgasms with sounding and my normal clitoral stimulation. The urethrea is right up along that soft happy g-spot so really if done right it can be a real treat. I think 7mm is the highest width I got. I think i can still go back to that, but with a little pain. Its best if you start small and work your way up.

Clean before, pee after. play careful.

well i mean the clitoral nerve is several inches long. You only have an inch of it sticking out of the body, ad most of that's under the hood... the rest of it is sitting there right longside your va-jay-jay and your urethera. Hence your g-spot. Add stimulation of the internal clitorla nerve from a vantage point of your urethera, with external stimulation and you have...

Yeah i jsut kinda washed too, i dind't sterilize it like i should have, but So far i've been lucky.
