Thanks for your honest answers, I really appreciate it. If I could ask just a few more questions - how thick in diameter was the instrument you used? And - since there are few resources for women, did you just "play by ear", or was someone able to give you a few pointers? Like, how did you know when to stop - can you feel it? And, how far in total would you say it went into you?
More than a few questions - told you I was curious.
I've looked online, and found articles on catheter insertions, but not sounds - not for women.
But I mentioned it (out of the blue, on the way to work last week) to my S.O./Dom, that it's something I'd like to try - and he's not totally freaked out by the idea.. He's leery of UTIs, and he wants to get lots of information from a doctor or nurse before we try it - which could be a deterrent, unless we can find someone in the community with the knowledge.
Broaching this topic with my G.P. is not exactly at the top of my can't-wait-to-do list for 2007... But damn it, I will if it comes to that! The poor guy.
