New Question, re: submissions

So, out of curiosity:

Chapter 1 of my story came out of the pending docket early yesterday, while Chapter 2 apparently came out just moments ago. Will Chapter 2 replace Chapter 1 on the "new stories" page at some point, or did I effectively block myself by putting them on the docket too close together?

Ch. 02 will show up in the New List soon enough.

Odds are that it was actually visible there briefly at around midnight. For some reason, the new stories go up, and then vanish for a little while.

It should pop back onto the New list before too much longer.

You won't lose any viewing time, because the exact same thing will happen tomorrow. While somebody else's story has gone *poof* for unknown reasons for an hour or two tomorrow, you'll make up the time you lost today.

I submitted a story over a week ago and have heard nothing. I emailed to ask how long it generally takes from submission to posting....with no response. Is a week a normal wait?

No a week isn't normal. You didn't fiddle with the "pending" button, did you? that would send it to the end of the queue. And e-mail does nothing on this site, unfortunately. PM (Private Messages--top right on this page) Laurel, who is the editor here, to see what the problem is if you haven't been fiddling with the "pending" button.

My stories have been taking four days to post since before Christmas. Normal was three days before then.
