Jeff looked at her character sheet for a moment before adding, “your amulet of wisdom I gave you also gives you proficiency in healing, which adds +2 to your healing, in addition to your own +3 proficiency for being a level 6 cleric so all in all you healed for 24 points.”

The cleric is grateful for her rescue and knows that he's an accomplished rogue/spellcaster, but finds his way of getting in her face and puffing himself up to be exhausting. She doesn't want to spend the rest of her days getting into dick-measuring contests with him when she could be searching for her missing village.

What she had meant to say was that it wasn't his fault, and that she was grateful, but it didn't seem like he really heard her. She turns away from him and sits down with her back against part of the rock formation. "I understand your concern," is all she says.

Piper was getting so into role-playing that she felt a little frustrated with Joe's character, making her a little turned-off. Her body stopped squirming as much and she took another bite of her remaining breadstick, chewing as she mulled over recent events. She had thought that their characters almost had a bonding moment, but it seemed like Dre was determined not to like Ranmaya. She thought to herself that maybe she should go back to the drawing board next time and make a more likable character like a weak cleric whose sole purpose was to heal the party, or a bard just for funsies.

Joe sees the shift in his sisters face, just a second ago, she was excited and happy, now a few mins later she is unhappy and miserable. Joe shakes his head, he looks to Tammy and than to Chris. They look at him as he is a big asshole.

Jeff: "Joe what are you doing?"

Joe sighs "I walk away, but before I hide in the brush, I turn to Ranmaya. "I am going to go see what is taking them so long. Stay..." I don't finish what I am going to say."

Joe picks his phone up and texts Jeff. Jeff gets the message and shrugs.

Jeff: "Lets take a break guys. A quick stretch."

Jeff and Joe walk off together and they close the door.

Lisa: "Piper, dang girl. You and your brother are not vibing..."
Tammy: "Don't worry Piper, that is how Joe's character is. He plays the strong leader asshole. Once he sees you can handle yourself, he will accept you. Dont be so hard on him."

Chris yawns. Ryan just sits there dumbfounded as he stares at Lisa.

Jeff and Joe come back in and sit down.

Jeff: "Ok Ranmaya, you see Dre vanish into the brush, suddenly an explosion goes off about 60 to 90 feet away from you. Do you investigate?"

Piper nods at the idea of a quick stretch and gets up out of her chair, stretching her arms and yawning. She looks at Lisa and Tammy as they talk, her eyebrow raising when Tammy says “don’t be so hard on him.”

“What do you mean? I’m a little disappointed that the two characters aren’t getting along, but that’s part of the game, right? Not everyone is going to jive. I thought he’d be okay with her since she cut an elf’s head clean off, healed him almost fully, and was able to be stealthy in full-plate, but ever since she told him not to barge into her room without asking, he hasn’t seemed to like her. think I might make my next character a little more agreeable since Ranmaya isn’t panning out the way I thought she would.”

She took a drink of her soda and shrugged, “I probably should have played closer to my own personality the first time. In any case, I think my character isn’t submissive enough for the group. There’s no mutual respect, it’s just butting heads all the time.”

Piper goes to sit down again, watching Joe and Jeff come back into the room.

Piper: she doesn’t investigate. She stays put like she was asked, and figures that the explosion is just Dre obliterating another group of enemies. The cleric has lost a bit of confidence in herself and prays to Tempus for guidance (not the spell). He doesn’t answer her, but that’s not unusual so she simply continues praying.

Joe hears what Piper is saying and grins to himself. He texts Jeff something. Jeff looks down and "Ranmaya you hear in your mind a thunderous voice Ranmaya Cleric of Tempus... I have heard your prayers. Stay the course, you are here for a purpose. Turn your back on the course and there will be consequences." The voice ends and you hear no more.

Joe looks to his character sheet.

Jeff "Ranmaya you see crawling from the brush Dre. He looks badly hurt. His hand raised to you. He is about 40 feet from you. Suddenly a hobgoblin and a goblin were seen behind him. Ranmaya you hear Dre."

Joe "Ranmaya I am... Sorry... Please... For..."

Than the hobgoblin stabbed Dre with his spear. He stabbed a few times and the goblin pulled the Hobgoblin away. There was a sadistic smile on the goblins face as he chanted something and shot a green beam through the back of Dre's head. Jeff rolled dice and "Dre you take 78 points of necrotic damage."

Tammy looked to them both. "What is happening? Joe?"

Joe shook his head as he turned his character sheet over. "That is more than half of the hp I have left."

Jeff "Dre you feel nothing as you turn to ash. Your body is nothing more than air."

Joe shakes his head. Tammy "your kidding me right?"

Jeff "joe?"

Joe looked to Tammy and than to Piper. "Ranmaya the last thing you see is a ring hovering in the air and the other part of the key that he kept from you. Do you take the ring?"

Tammy stood up, her big breasts bouncing. "No Jeff this is bullshit. There is no way Joe died like that. Joe what the hell, almost 2 years we have put into this. Are you serious? Can we ressurect him? Lisa? Piper? Can you bring him back?"

She seemed very upset. Chris held her.

Joe "sorry Tammy..."

Jeff shakes his head. "You cant ressurect him, you have no body to ressurect. The only way to bring him back is with Wish or Miracle.

Joe stands up and pushes his chair in. "Sorry guys. Your leader is dead. I was careless. I made some bad rolls."

Jeff just sighs. "Joe please exit the table."

Tammy gets her things and stuffs them in her bag. She seems upset and she storms off. "Fuck you Joe... You did this on purpose... You ruined the game."

Joe looked to her. "What the hell, how can you say that? You have Piper and Lisa now. Dont be like this, I am just going to make a new character."

Tammy "Joe, I know everything about your character and you are just about unkillable... Fuck you Joe, you broke Gennifers heart and mine..."

Lisa did not understand what was happening. Ryan looked to Tammy "calm down Tammy, shit happens, he is going to make a new character... Calm the fuck down and take a drink and some Prozac"

Tammy stormed off and left. Chris packed his stuff up, but she sped off in the car. Chris looked to Joe and sighed.

Joe "just stop. Everyone stop."

He looked to Piper. "Im going to go after her. Ill be back."

Lisa huffed on the inside. Everything was ruined. They were right there. "Are we still going to play?"

Jeff shook his head. "No. I think we are going to call it."

Piper: Ranmaya is surprised to hear the voice of Tempus after so many years of silence on his part, wondering what his words mean.

She listened as Dre's death scene was laid out for her, her eyes widening in shock as she looked back and forth between Joe and Jeff. Had Dre died because she didn’t help with the explosion? She simply couldn’t believe that Joe’s character died and turned to ash right in front of her Cleric.

Piper: Oh um... Ranmaya gets to her feet quickly and draws her sword, running at the two enemies to attack both of them. (Piper then gets several high rolls). She runs up to them and with a mighty swing of her sword, her vengeance is exacted on the two goblin-creatures, beheading them as she did the elf. The cleric kneels at the edge of the ashes and picks up both the ring, and the part of the key. The ring is immediately put on, and she remembers the words of her God, numb for now to the tragedy that just happened in front of her.

She uses the spell “meld with stone” since she doesn’t have the strength to move them. She is absorbed into the stone, but chooses to exit on the other side.

Piper looked up, witnessing the drama between Tammy and Joe, wondering why he would kill off his character. It was her impression that he was damn hard to kill as well, and he died by hobgoblin? The question became more about why he did it. She nodded at Joe as he went after Tammy.

There was silence before Lisa asked about the game.

“Well.. if we’re calling it, I might as well wrap it up.” Piper looked at Jeff and he shrugged.

Jeff: you run through the cave, getting lost and seemingly being swallowed up by the maze of tunnels. You don’t know how much time passed, but you eventually find a large door with a keyhole that matches your key. You open it and find a beautiful orb in the middle of the room. What do you do?”

Piper could have imagined it, but the orb on the table seemed to glow for just a moment. Something overtook her and it almost didn’t feel like she was the one saying it as she opened her mouth, “with the hand with Dre’s ring on it, I reach out... and touch the orb.” At this point she didn’t care what happened to her character anyway, so she wanted to find out what it was, even if it was reckless.

Joe came back inside as Tammy sped off. He shook his head and heard the tale end to Jeff's description. He smiled as he sent Jeff a text. Jeff smiled.

"Piper, as you touch the crystal, it is cool and smooth to the touch, but the air in the room seemed dull. At first with Dre's ring on your finger, you see a feint hint of light, very dull and weak. Nothing happens Ranmaya. From outside the chamber you hear a spark of energy, lightning crashing on the stone floor. Do you go and check it out?"

After going to check what is going on in another room, you see a green hair with pink streaks going through it, you see a smaller Tiefling in the room, blue skin, bright purple eyes, he has two swords at his side, there was only one horn that spiraled on the side of his head. The other looked as if it was severed off. The Tiefling ran a hand through his hair as he looked around. Joe...

Joe: "I look around and I spot the Cleric peering into the room. I step off the teleportation circle."
"Hello, hello? Is Dre here? I tracked his ring and found a teleportation circle here, is he here? I have been sent by the guild to assist in this, I know they sent you and another here for support, but we have gotten word from him that there is a army of Orcs, Goblins, Hobgoblins, Trolls, and Giants. I bring something he request I bring from his personal stores." I set down a medium size chest. "Where is he?"

The Tiefling stands there looking at the cleric.

"Oh, my name is Saven, I am friends with Gennifer and Dre, and you are?"

He bowed as he said this, bowed low to her.

Piper was a little disappointed that nothing happened with the orb, but she didn’t know what she had been expecting. Still, she smiled as Jeff described something happening in the cave hallway. “Of course I’m checking it out!” She answered with excitement.

Jeff continued describing what she saw, a tiefling. She had to look up what that was on her phone for a moment before nodding and looking at Joe curiously, wondering if this was his new character.

Piper: Ranmaya walks out of the room, not sure what she’s supposed to do but interested in what had happened. She has her shield up and her sword drawn as the triefling steps off the circle, but sheathes her weapon as he mentioned Dre. She listens silently as he continues to talk for a while, depositing the chest before her.

“Dre is dead.” She says bluntly but quietly. “He was killed earlier by the large group of enemies, I assume. I only saw the part where he was incinerated into ash from a necrotic attack to the head. I took his ring and his key since he no longer needed them.”

Ranmaya comes closer to him slowly and shows him the ring on her finger. “I am Ranmaya, cleric of Tempus. I don’t know where the rest of the party is. Presumably they’re all dead if he was brought down. I survived due to him telling me to stay by the cave. And now it seems we were led here for nothing...” the cleric sighs and looks at him wearily. “Saven, is it? Do you know how to open the chest? If you want to take it back to the guild, I won’t stop you, but I’m curious what he would send for in a situation so dire.”

Saven looked to Ranmaya and smiled.

"Well, the chest has a signet mark on it that matches the ring. Why don't you try and press the ring to it. He was a very secretive man. He was also a mentor of mine."

He shows you his spell book, it had the same signet mark on it. He sighed.

"I cannot believe he was killed by these creatures, he was a very finely tuned fighter, he trained me in the art of the sword and dagger, bows and crossbows, spells and other ways. I felt something was wrong that is why I volunteered to help when he sent message to the guild masters, telling them of what was happening out here. We cant have an army going unchecked."

When Ranmaya pressed the ring to the chest seal, it clicked and opened. There was a few different items, another case that had corks, healing potions were in here, a few different wands and a small clear crystal, long and cold to the touch. Saven looked to the crystal.

"Oh wow... a gatestone, you can summon people to you with this. I am guessing that Gennifer has one, she can bring the rest with her."

Saven hands the crystal to Ranmaya and he looks out of the chamber. It was almost as if he was drawn to the other room.

"What do we have here?"

Jeff tells Joe what was in the room. As he moved Saven's mini in the room, Lisa watched as the crystal on the terrain glowed.

"Ranmaya, did you see this crystal here?"

“I can’t believe it either. At the very least he should have been able to create a double, fake his death, or turn invisible, but I suppose everyone has a time. I hope his god is a merciful one, or at least one who will recognize his skill in life.” Ranmaya says, putting the ring to the chest and watching it open.

She’s a little baffled that he just has potions, wands, and a gatestone. The gatestone seems useful, but the rest seemed pretty inconsequential. Ranmaya takes the stone and turns it over on her hand, sighing.

Piper looks at Jeff, “how do you use one of these?”

Jeff smiled, “just picture who you want to talk to and say their name and you’d be able to get through to them.”

Piper nodded: Ranmaya holds it and thinks of Gennifer, “Gennifer, come here to the cave. It’s relatively safe in here. I have one of Dre’a Tiefling friends here with me.” She sets the crystal down and walks over to Saven in the crystal orb room, putting her hands on her hips.

Piper also slid her figure into the room: “Yes, I’ve seen it and touched it. It doesn’t seem to be responsive to my touch, and there’s no treasure in here so it all seems a bit of a let down. It doesn’t sit right with me that Dre died to reach an empty room with an unresponsive crystal.”

Jeff "As you think of who you want to speak to, you imagine Gennifer, you see her shapely body, her beautiful features. Suddenly after a few seconds you see from the stone a portal appear and Gennifer and the others walk through."

Chris was texting furiously on his phone. Suddenly you hear Tammy walk back in. Joe set his phone down as well and he stood up and walked over to her and pulled her outside. They chatted for a moment and Joe hugged her. Tammy hugged him back and the table could see them through the window. She offered him a smoke and he looked to it. There was clear thought in his mind as he raised his hand, but pushed them away and shook his head. Jeff opened the window. "Saven what are you doing? The party is all here."

Joe looked to Tammy and she read his eyes. Joe hugs Tammy again, presses his face to her breasts, Tammy grins and he lets her go and walks back inside next to his sister Piper, his hands were visibly shaking.

"I look to Ranmaya and I touch the crystal, is there any change to it?"

Jeff looks to Joe "Roll an investigation" Joe looks to everyone and he takes his phone and pulls up DnD beyond. Joe "One moment sorry, new character."

Joe rolls his dice and tells Joe "14" Jeff "Saven, as you touch the crystal you see the crystal glow and take a blackish color, it is clearly different from when you touched the crystal Ranmaya. Joe "I take my hand away and I start to look it over more, studying it. Master Dre taught me many things, never to over look anything"

Jeff: "The glow from the crystal fades and it is back to being clear again. Ranmaya are you doing anything?"

Tammy from outside "Gennifer walks and inspects Saven, sniffing him, poking at him"

Joe: "Gennifer, you know me... you have seen Master Dre train me"
Tammy: "Don't say his name... he was great and he was the leader of us. Ranmaya..." Gennifer shakes her head and sheds a tear.
Chris "Yale walks over and hugs Gennifer and walks her away"
Tammy "Where the fuck is the treasure!"

Piper sighed in relief as she saw Tammy come back, almost getting up to say something and hug her before she saw Joe walking out to meet her, pulling her outside. She felt a little left out as they talked and hugged, but knew that they had been good friends and needed to clear the air a bit.

It made her so happy to see him resist the temptation of the smokes, especially since he could have tried to justify it and make excuses regarding the drama of the game. He stood firm, though, and Piper was very proud of him for that. She wasn’t sure whether she felt left out or turned on from seeing his face push against her boobs, but she definitely thought about how soft Tammy boobs were for a few moments.

She listens and watches as she hears about Joe’s character making the orb react to him, wondering why it hadn’t done anything for her.

Piper: The cleric watches him touch it. “It didn’t do anything when I touched it, so perhaps it only reacts to those who have infernal blood.” She murmurs thoughtfully, watching the dark clouds swirl in the crystal. Her eyes turn to the trifling as he studies the orb.

She watches Gennifer and Yale talk with Saven, looking around the cave more. The cleric sighs as wonders the same thing as Gennifer. “Either there is no treasure, or that orb is the key to unlocking it. That is my best guess.” Ranmaya sits down and takes out some elvish bread with berries in it and starts eating it.

Lisa looks to Jeff, she stretches, moving her fingers in a intricate way. She mutters something under her breathe. She than looks at Jeff. Jeff shakes his head and than look to the board.

"There is a shift to the ground and Ranmaya you are thrown off your balance and you slide to the crystal, Saven you are knocked off your balance as well, both you and Ranmaya are thrown into to the stone. As you both put your hands to the crystal, there is a glow, half black and half golden glow that mixes into the crystal, almost like a yin and yang. You both see the crystal glow and than crack and break into two, Ranmaya you get the black half and Saven you get the golden half. You also see a portal that opens there."

Strangely on the board the mini of the crystal also splits in half. Jeff shakes his head and picks up the two pieces and hands them off to Piper and Joe.

"I don't remember them doing that, but here you go..."

Jeff shook his head, strange he was a little dizzy.

Joe "Jeff are you ok?"

He got up and got him some water and a mountain dew. "Here, drink this..."

He also got him a couple of breadsticks "Stop staring at Lisa's tits mate... making you fucking loose too much blood..."

He sat down and shook his head.

Joe: "I look to the portal and than I look to Ranmaya and the rest."
"Is everyone ok?" I check on everyone to make sure. I first go to Ranmaya and I check to make sure she is ok."
"Ranmaya, are you ok? Do you need assistance?" After that I go to Gennifer "Are you ok?" I go around to the others to see if they are ok.

Jeff: "Everyone seems like they are ok. You two were the only ones that seem to be knocked off balance. But you do see the portal."

Joe: "Gennifer, I do believe that Dre would have wanted you to take the lead in his death."

Tammy: "She looked to Joe and than nodded, "Ranmaya and Saven go through first, stay quiet and stay low, next I and Yale, than right after Elistrae and Hawk. Understand."

Joe "You got it boss..."

Saven looked to Ranmaya and drew his sword. "Oh, I also distributed the potions and I keep the wands."

Joe nodded.

Piper doesn’t even notice Lisa muttering since she was taking a bite of her breadstick and patting Joe on the knee to let him know she was very pleased with his choices.

Her attention turned back to Jeff when he started talking again about the crystal. She wondered what campaign this was and whether all of them were so involved. Even the crystal mini broke in two like in the story; she didn’t know how they did it, but it was a neat little touch to make things more immersive. She took the little half from Jeff and looked at it curiously. It was very small, and she would probably lose it if she wasn’t careful.

She looked up when Joe asked if Jeff was okay. Now that he mentioned it, he did look a bit dizzy and pale. Maybe he was coming down with something. She let out a little chuckle at Joe’s lighthearted joke, though.

Piper: Ranmaya nods at him, “yes, I’m unharmed. Thank you.”

Piper nodded and smiled as Tammy took the lead, agreeing that she should lead the group now. She wondered if Tammy would use her authority to make things interesting from now on.

Piper: The elf cleric draws her own sword and raises her shield, her helmet becoming full-plate so that her face is obscured. “Sounds like a plan to me.” She says, slowly making her way to the portal and crouching as she enters it with the tiefling.
