Well its going for the most part. Still some times it doesn't want to, but we're working with it.

Really helps with getting ideas for projects.....Google is our friend ;)

Also nice to have friends who know what you're talking about and where to find it also.

Glad to see this place full again.

Good morning all! The coffee is on - and I was finally able to de-bury the kitchen/dining room table so there's a place to sit.

However, we're out of the French vanilla stuff. My bad. But I have an excuse.

Okay...

I have a reason.

See, Colorado University was playing football last night and I wanted to watch the game.

"Well alrighty then", you might well ask, "you're a free born feller with your own TV, watch the game. What has that to do with French Vanilla stuff?"

Cool your jets there boopsie, I'm getting to it.

It seems that lately I am unable to watch a whole football game from my recliner without fading out into a nap that is guaranteed to have me out till well past the end of the game and wondering how it turned out. Then I either have to call RJ and ask him what the score was, or endure 30 minutes of ESPN sport news to get the information. It appears football has become as good a tranquilizer as golf as far as I am concerned.

So, even tho it was evening, I decided to break tradition and have myself a cup of coffee in hopes that it and my guitar would keep me attentive. Now, while I was out in the kitchen preparing my coffee, CU managed to throw an interception and there was much todo and hollering on the TV. So I quick grabbed my coffee and hustled my butt back out into the living room so I could watch the replay moan and groan properly... you know, holler pass interference and stuff like that.

I did manage to stay awake and watch the game to its bitter end, CU lost. K (Kansas) U remains undefeated. Bummer. :(

Earlier in the day, RJ and the Sarge had stopped by to help me get a new editor/publisher for creating blog entries installed on my two computers and we were discussing one of Little J's recent assignments, which was to write a paper about an English feller who worked hand in hand with Edison in coming up with the phonograph, the english guy because he was hell bent on collecting English/Irish/Scottish/Welsh folk and traditional music. I had remarked that that whole business was the premise of the movie The Songcatcher. In fact there is even an English feller in the flick who is 'sposed to be a renowned dude at that sort of thing at the time the movie takes place.

So, since I had my guitar out and was in the mood for something more entertaining than a losing effort on the gridiron, I put the movie on and watched it. I had a high ole time. It is one of Anne and my favorite movies. Emmy Rossam (Opera singer) does just dandy as a young Song Catcher. Iris Dement has a part in it - singing Pretty Saro from the front porch of an old Smokie Mountains cabin. I played along with them... learned the chords to Barbara Ellen. The movie reached its feel good ending and I shut everthing down and went to bed.

By now, you must be thinking, "Geezus Blooze, what in the hell has all that got to do with the French Vanilla stuff?"

I'm getting to that. Nothing happened to the French Vanilla stuff. When I got out to the kitchen this morning to get my first cup it was right there on the counter where I'd left it when CU donated a touchdown to KU with an errant forward pass.

Now this stuff comes in the dairy case. They advise that you keep it refrigerated. Having heaved myself delerious on some sour milk once when I was a young 'un, I am more than a tad paranoid about such things - I poured what remained in the bottle down the sink and ran some water on it.

And that's the reason we have no French Vanilla stuff. I'd like to think that it is the fault of the young Colorado quarterback and his sloppy pass... but that might be stretching it some.

Why, it might even stretch it as far as I stretched this yarn...

:D

Here it is again...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h6jbopHREw

This must be one of the reasons God invented music - because he wanted start the day with these sounds around him... the music, and the relieved laughter at the end when they finish the song and realize they'd pulled it off without any errors.

I hope you all are having a just dandy Sunday!

Well GOOD MORNING Chief!!!!

Dam...no french vanilla stuff????

Well that sucks  you got two choices throw on something halfway respectable...start the car and go get some....or look at the coffee take a sip, grimace and then say OHHH I guess this isn't toooooo awful ;)

Geeze if I wasn't a responsible adult...I would just say fuckin it and get in the car and bring ya some...
Dam responsible gene...won't let me...I need to be at work by 11:30...

Well how about I send a long distance kiss instead?

Well, long distance kisses, while no where near as neat as their short distance cousins, are cool none the less... :D

Good Morning Little Bit!! :rose:

The French Vanilla stuff... while good to have, it is no where near as important as the coffee itself. I have some beans that could be ground should I run out of the standard Folgers. No need to leave the house a 5:30 in the morning for coffee, damn sure no need to leave the house at that hour for the Vanilla Stuff.

About the only thing I can think of that could stir that kind of behaviour at that hour is cigarettes. Running out of cigarettes on the wakeup can not and will not be tolerated. For me, once I dip into the last carton it is just like when the gas guage hits a quarter of a tank - time to find a vendor.

I will be able to resolve the coffee mate issue after church this morning. That will be soon enough. I think, however, that this time I will pick up a small container of the dry stuff to keep around for these occasions. It is the Boy Scout thing to do.

Working the late shift today. That is cool. You and Mav get the morning together, and then you are out of his hair in time for the Chiefs. How could it be any better...

:nana:

 Don't hit!! No Hitting!!

Your right.....I would leave the house at 5:30 to get smokes or to catch a plane...I would suffer threw half-assed coffee or settle for tea if need be.
I swear whenever you throw on something to make a quick run it seems like the people from highschool come out of the woodworking just waiting to pounce... You sneak down one aisle hoping they didn't spot you and dam turn the corner an there's another one waiting for you..

You going to church with your daughter this morning???

Yeppers, that has become one of our routines. And when it is over we hit one of the local eateries for lunch and a visit.

It seems to be helping her some - at least she pulls fewer stunts when I am around.

There are other reasons for going - I'll save you that. But suffice it to say that me and God's relationship seems to have changed quite a bit. He is God, the boss, if you will. But we ain't buds, we very seldom share a pint any more.

Anyway, I better get my crusty and wrinkled self in the shower...

I'll chat with you later.

Good Mornig All

No French Vanilla huh?.....well thats ok, I don't drink coffee anyway :D

"A pretty tune, a pretty morn, and a pretty woman are all you need"

......guess I have to settle for just the first one right now

Hey Rainee... :rose:

It's one of the flavours of Coffee Mate. Way back when Anne and I tried one of the other flavours and it was repulsive - haven't ventured out since... ;)

One thing that is neat about it is that once mixed with coffee and rum it comes off very similar to Bailey's (sp )

Here is a link to their site http://www.coffee-mate.com/7Days/default.aspx?

I was actually shocked that I could find it. They's got everthin' on this here internet, just everthin'

LOL - Shame on you... :)

I don't think they've showed it in this country yet. It was produced by Jerry Douglas. There have been three of the sessions. I have been googling about trying to find a decent vendor for the DVDs of the shows... specials really. I don't think the third has aired yet.

This link is the result of searching thru youTube on "Transatlantic Sessions" - there's six or seven pages of clips from the specials here. All are good, many are great.

I really like the Chieftans as well, and Tim O'Brien too.

Here's a little blast from the past for ya... Hot Rize was one of the biggest Bluegrass bands ever, and Tim O'Brien was the lead singer, Mandolin and Fiddle player. This song "Walk the Way the Wind Blows" is one that I am currently working on - only not so twangy...

Ohhh ARRG!!

I forgot the French Vanilla stuff.

Nikki and I had a good time a church yesterday, ate too much at the Senor Taco... (does anybody know the code for the proper letter in senor?) ...and then I got to watchin' football and the Broncos Won!!

So anyway, Ms. Audrey is pissed this morning. She was being lazy and stretching around and goofing on me last night when I was trying to get her to come in - it's bedtime. I got tired of trying to "here kitty kitty" her into the house and didn't feel like providing a ruse like shaking the food in her dish so I just shut the door and left her out there.

Well boy howdy, did I hear about it this morning when I let her in. Let her in... she damn near ran me over, and was bitchin' all the way. I can't spell the sound she made. Trust me. She was bitchin'!

So I tells her, "Knock it off! I tried to get you come in three times last night!"

And she did. Just shut up and went to her bowl. I guess she didn't feel like arguing.

Dance as you Go, dance as you go
And you'll find your heart is lighter
on the dark and dusty road.

Dance as you Go, dance as you go
And you'll find your feet are lighter
and get you there before you know.

I just love this radio station!

I just heard that preformed by an Irish sounding guy named James Keelaghan. The name of the CD is "A Recent Future". An interesting phrase that. A recent future. The result of living today, a new future.

Hmmm...

If I was stoned I might go on about that for an hour or so. I think I will let it marinade for a bit...

Monday.

You all be careful, keep your heads out this week...

Sorry about the black coffee this morning... today, I promise!

Oh you goofy man...come to KC we always have French Vanilla!!!!

Boys...*shaking my head*

I call the younger one last night...the conversation...well he was distracted...probably IMing the girlfriend while I tried to talk to him..after a couple of minutes I gave up...it was obvious he wasn't interested in talking with Mom..I hung up when I could feel my voice start to crack because I was going to cry..

45 minutes later I get a phone call from my older son's girlfriend...it seems like the older one cut his finger opening a can of soup an freaked at the blood...he is never someone you want around in a emergency..he doesn't handle the sight of blood well especially his own.He wanted my opinion...did he need stitches?

Boys...*shaking my head*

Still running short handed at the job...working 11 in a row...trying to get someone trained enough to help open an close...

well anyways...

It is nice to say goodmorning to you Chief...and good morning Family

Good morning Little Bit... :)

Girls... alla tme belly-achin' about us Boys... :D

Surprisingly, Annie wasn't good at emergencies. She was hell on wheels when it came to nursing care. But if the shit hit the fan, you better hope someone else was around.

I don't know if I told this story or not, so here goes... One time Nikki breathed a large mint and started choking. I hear Anne scream "Macx, she's choking". I took off for the bedroom and they were both on the bed, Anne holding her, Nikki, who was in her 20s at the time, was flopping all over the place and being quite a handful.

"What?" I holler.
"Mint!" she holler's back.
"Heimlick her!!"
"I am!!"

Well from what I could see Anne's Heimlick would hardly be considered an agressive hug. I snatched Nikki into the air and sort of spun her, and caught her by the belly coming down and snapped up as I took her weight. The mint litterally shot out of her mouth.

My adrenaline was up. I threw Nikki onto the bed and turned to Anne...

"What in the Fuck were you Doing?" I was preparing to scream. But the pale ashen look on her face shut me up. She knew, and she didn't need me to tell her. If I had not been there, Nikki would have died.

I tried to prop Anne up later, and gave her my First Aide class, "Blood and Air, NOW" is pretty much how it goes. Worry about the rest of the shit later. But we both pretty much knew that if things went dicey quick, Anne needed to call 911 as quickly as possible... and hope they were fast.

What did you tell your boy? If you see white stuff in the hole, go get stitches?

Eleven days... damn girl. They must have really been on a short crew before you got there? What would they be doing if you weren't there? Christmas ain't all that far off - they best be peopling up - and you gonna need so time off afore you fry something...

You take it easy - no big projects at work until they get some people in. If they bitch tell them to take it up with the Feds and OSHA...

:D $

That older one of mine really scares ME.....he just panics at the sight of blood...I worry if he were to seriously cut himself that he would panic..go into shock and bleed to death.I told him the same thing his girlfriend did...put pressure on it an elevate.....some how he thought that putting his finger under cold water would work...NOT..

Boss is still in the hospital....they have made me temporary manager...biggest problem with the store is lack of proper training...
I don't want to put someone behind the counter to help open and close without enough training...when you do that your asking for trouble and LOTS of phone calls when they panic..not a good situation...I would rather work a few extra days and give them the tools to empower themselves to feel comfortable with the extra responsibility
What the hell sitting here yacking with you wrapped in a towel is not getting me any closer to getting dressed an ready for work

LOL - you most certainly wouldn't want to run Skiatook Tap water on an open wound. No telling what sort of Jungle Rot you would be introducing to your immune system. We get a letter about every six months from the city saying our water ain't up to snuff. It is basically "grey water", and only used in cooking when rather severe heating is involved.
